@DoctorEldritch Not really. I've prepared a small feast for my mum and dad, and it will only be us, my furbaby Nandi, and, of course, mousey. 😊

I would prefer both to be the same make and model but if all else fails the size must be equal.

Both made it home safely and are sending thanks and appreciation to the Legion community for helping them get here. 😂

Must be Deja Vu. I've seen a few Bing Crosby video clips last night on the telly.

@DracoTarot what qualifies as a "small feast"? And are there any traditional dishes for this (like turkeys in the UK)?

You're very welcome, hope you enjoy the monitor and mouse!

Well, it is the time of the year when you can handle escape Bing Crosby 😉

@DoctorEldritch We usually prepare a Gammon or Beef Roll for Christmas but this year my mum and I made potato salad, garlic bread, sirloin steak wrapped in bacon and farm-style mushrooms. For dessert, I used a cupcake mix and made a peppermint crisp cake instead of cupcakes. We enjoyed the cake with custard and jelly.

The mouse and monitor were the best Christmas gifts ever. I'm enjoying them very much.

I think they aired a documentary about Bing Cosby. My dad was watching it.

Hope you've had a lovely Christmas and a hardy meal.

The new year is slowly approaching its end and I can't believe how fast it went.

The only New Year's resolution I'm bargaining on is 1920x1080 from my glorious Lenovo Monitor to make things easier. 😂😎

@DracoTarot Oh my, this is not the turkey, but still a reasonably European form of a feast. We did not have anything special save for some traditional dressed herring this Christmas, but then again, catholic Christmas is not a big thing here, New Year's is where it's at.

It is comforting to know that we managed to make your Christmas more merry this year in our small way 😊

That only proves the point: you can't escape Bing Cosby during the winter holidays. Even if you're crafty and give his songs a slip, his documentaries will get ya.

The year ran by in a flash, that's true. Time sure flies...

That's a good resolution to have, and one that you're likely and hopefully will not end up breaking 😅

@DoctorEldritch. We're not fond of turkey. Occasionally we will buy one to prepare. The thing is turkey is so expensive here and would rather buy something extra for the table to feast on.

Dressed herring sounds delicious. I can't remember when last I ate herring. It was ages ago. 😶

We're New Apostolic and everything goes all year round no matter the occasion.

You haven't spoiled me in a small way. To me, it's a HUGE thing and I am still trying to wrap my head around it and wonder why I was so deserving of the gifts. I feel I need to give something in return. 😊

It's summer here and still, they aired his documentary and played songs on the radio It seems it doesn't matter the season.

There's no chance of me breaking it. The monitor will be taken care of just like a shiny little diamond.

No one is touching it and I mean no one. 😂

I'll even go as far as to throw one of my grandma's knitted blankies over it to protect the monitor from dust and scratches.😂

@DracoTarot Turkey for Christmas is mostly a UK thing, I think. Not sure about the US, they have that Thanksgiving for that. Personally, I find turkey ok but not really all that worthy of a status of festive food, and you're right, they can be somewhat pricey.

Dressed herring was ok. My favorite though is Olivier salad, traditional here for New Year's feast.

Glad you're enjoying the gifts so much 😊

It may be summer, but it is still the holiday season, and he is one of its symbols. Makes sense for him to pop up even if it's summer over there.

Blanket is fine, but it's a bit 90s. What you need is a crochet:

With a Legion logo on it 😉

I have not played that one, the last one I played was V. Is it good?

The time has come again for the GOG Advent Calendar free game. This time it's The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav:

GOG seems to be fond of Daedalic Entertainment this year, this is the second game of theirs that they put on their Advent Calendar. Will not be surprised if we get Deponia by the end of it.

@DoctorEldritch Yeah, in the US, turkeys are a delicacy on Thanksgiving. I remember last year, Slow Joe had a special breed of turkey at the White House that won some awards. I'm not sure if the turkey was eaten or used for breeding. 😂

I never had Olivier's salad before. How is it prepared? I assume it has olives in it.

I guess there is no way around it. Bing will always pop up somewhere over the festive season.

A crochet cover isn't a bad idea. Maybe someone with the skills and talent could start a new business venture and crochet custom covers and sell them on ETSY.

The one in your photo is a bit pinkish and baby blueish for me. I would be happy with a red or black one and of course with the Legion logo on it. 😊

@DoctorEldritch The gameplay isn't bad and it's easy to navigate. The graphics are quite good and do not lag. Another plus, it's the complete edition so everything is there and there's no need to patch or download packs.

@DoctorEldritch The Dark Eye also looks good.
