@DracoTarot I think one of the awards the White House has is that they release the turkey into the wild or let it live, as in, it will not be cooked and eaten. I think I read something like that.

Ah, no, there are no olives in it, it is named that way because it was invented by a chef named Lucien Olivier. Here is what's in it:

I'd think someone does crochet business already. Maybe not exclusively for monitors. The one in the photo is the one I found on Google, you can probably get one in whatever colour you want if you set out to do that.

I am just wondering how it compares to the previous ones. I heard that part 3 is an unreachable classic still popular today, part 4 is nothing to write home about, part 5 had a rocky start with glitches and bugs, but when a few patches and DLCs came out it became very good, part 6 is same as part 4, and part 7 I do not know about, how well it compares to the ones before.

The Dark Eye may be fine, but I don't think I'll grab that one. Either give me golden age quests or give me nothing.

@DoctorEldritch At least one turkey made it out safely, and it must be an honour to wonder about it at the White House, knowing you won't be on someone's dinner plate. 😂

The Olive Salad looks amazing. Thank you for the video. Now I know how to prepare it and think I'm going to make some tomorrow with the BBQ we're having. I'll call it my year-end salad.

The Crochet business is huge here, especially within old age homes. Remember a while back I told you I do satellite dish installations for old age people. Maybe it would be a good idea to ask one of the aunties to crochet me one. 😊

So far the gameplay is good and I haven't had any issues loading the game. The graphics could have been better. My favourite one is number 3 and my least favourite six. I haven't played part 7.

I'll grab Dark Eye for the fun of it. Something I can play when I'm bored.

@DracoTarot I think those turkeys get sent to a farm, actually. But these days I would not be surprised if it ended up roaming free in there...

It is quite a hearty salad, it is reasonably easy to make (does require a bit of preparation though), dut it is very tasty if you use the ingredients that you like (I am particular about mayonnaise, for example). And it varies somewhat depending on what kind of meat you use, what will you have?

You could check and see, maybe some of them crocheted those dishes. If you spot that, those would be good people to ask 😉

I thought you are playing part 7 now?

I hope you still have time to grab it, they do not keep them on offer that long, so best to act fast if you want it.

@DoctorEldritch I think you're right. They will end up being free-range turkeys on a farm.

I do not mind spending my whole day in the kitchen and will take the time preparing the salad. I will follow the same recipe as in the video and when I make some more with the next meal I will add my ingredients.

I wonder how it would taste with cream or cream cheese instead of mayonnaise? the salad does not have olives and I am so fond of them. I'll dice a few olives and add them to the salad and not keep them whole.

I'm going to ask for sure. They can either say yes or no. I will even do an installation for free. If the crochet does not work well with my monitor I can always use it as a pillow cover. 😊

Silly me, I meant I haven't played part 5. I am indeed busy with part 7.

I will go have a look. If it's gone so mote it be!! Not really a trainsmash. 😊

@DracoTarot One of the good things about this salad is that it keeps quiet you can cook it a day before to spread the workload. some even say it tastes a bit better the next day because the ingredients get to soak and lightly marinade, and even specifically cook it a day before. If you like, you can try doing so as well.

Not sure, I never substituted like that, I am a very particular traditionalist about how I like it to be cooked. You can experiment, that's one of the fun things about cooking. That being said, if you're after olives, there are other options:

That happens. I played part 5 and I enjoyed it a lot, I would recommend it for the next time when you want to play HoMM after 7.

Even if it is gone, they are likely to gift something else tomorrow.

Looks like I stand corrected. The last game GOG gives out this year is not Deponia, it's Vambrace: Cold Soul:

Bit of a tradeoff, this one: somewhat like Darkest Dungeon (maybe?), which is good, but only Mixed on Steam, which is not that good. But as it's free now, might as well grab and check it out if you're fast enough to do it over the New Year.

@DoctorEldritch I will try it. It's the same with BBQ: the leftovers taste better the next morning. Usually, we make breakfast with leftovers or dice the meat into fine strips, put it on freshly baked bread, add a bit of cheese, and toast it in the oven.

I can't remember exactly why I skipped 5. I think I had errors running the game, and that is usually the reason.

Yeah, maybe there will be other nice games available as gifts.

@DoctorEldritch Vambrace does look like Darkest Dungeon.

@DracoTarot That sounds nice. We do not make anything complicated with leftovers like that. Well, what you do is not that complicated either, by this I mean, we do not do anything with leftovers but eating them 😅 But during summer when we make shashliks, we always have leftovers for the next day. Though shashliks do taste better when just cooked, but even when not they are delicious enough.

Ah, yes, 5 had a lot of issues when it came out, took a lot of patches to fix it. But now it is very good, I'd advise it if you can get it in a giveaway or a good sale.

Vambrace does look like Darkest Dungeon indeed, but the gameplay seems to be not as polished or varied. Still, gift horse, mouth, all that...

@DoctorEldritch We always have some leftovers, which we eat for lunch the following day. We even have spaghetti or 2-minute noodles.

I will keep my eyes open for the next sale. Five is the only one I haven't played.

At month's end, I will grab Vambrace and see how the gameplay is and if I would consider finishing it.

@DracoTarot 2-minute noodles leftovers? don't they get soggy?

Five is quite good. Hopefully, they will offer it somewhere, it's pretty old by now.

Best to hurry with Vambrace, not sure how long they will keep it on offer. Probably not until the end of January...
