@DoctorEldritch I've worked in a Goth and Alternative club from 2016 up until 2019. The place was called Zeplins. I was an EBM and Darkwave Dj. The club had 3 dancefloors. The main floor and stage for bands and headbangers. The retro floor for all the old music from the '80s, 90's and early 2000's. Then there was the Gallery. My sanctuary, all the goth kids gathered there.

Everybody had respect for each other and everyone was like family. Not once in the club's existence anything happened. No troubles. Even off-duty law enforcement officers enjoyed being there. So it was a very safe environment.

Later on, things became too dangerous for the patrons and the owner. The owner was hijacked several times and got fed up and closed down and moved to the UK. Since then the culture fell apart and no other clubs opened their doors.

I also do not like crowds and avoid any gatherings especially if I am unable to associate with people. The world changed nothing is the same.

@DracoTarot An interesting occupation. And yeah, everything changes, sometimes for the better, sometimes not. But hey, at least you'll always have memories. This reminds me of that song Rebecca Sugar wrote for the finale of Adventure Time:

You can always make a goth thread here and see how many of us here are goth? I am not part of that subculture myself, but I'd wager you are not alone in that here. I hope.

@DoctorEldritch Such good memories of my past adventures remain. It would be fun to relive those moments again.

All the flashbacks remind me of this song by Disturbed.

One of my dreams was to open a club of my own. Oh, my word!! There are rolls and rolls of red tape involved. I let go of the idea.

I could do a Goth thread and see how many fellow Legionnaires may have an interest in the subculture.

I miss the series IT Crowd. Richmond was one of my favourite actors.

@DracoTarot The first song would fit right in the Day of the Dead thread, too!

Your comment about the red tape reminded me of Ron Swanson, one of the iconic Parks and Recreation characters and hi comment about the apples:

That series also has that Orin character, not sure if he qualifies as goth though. I am only familiar with goth through the stories of Allan Poe.

@DoctorEldritch I thought you'd notice the Day of the Dead theme. I don't remember Orin. I need to watch the series again.

Allen Poe is the Godfather of Gothic Poetry and novels. Some goth bands found inspiration from his work.

I could not find a good clip of him, they all have some eery music. But it's this guy:

Yeah, some call Poe an original Goth.

Back to the music, I thought to start the week off with some positive jazz. A lot of it.

    Kidding.

Just listen their voice, combination is beautiful. Put some nice bass stereos on and enjoy. @MoriMoonpaw @Saka Do you ever listen to Finnish music?

@Liue Before this song I only ever heard Finnish polkas, like the famous Ieva's Polka:

I do not watch Eurovision, so had no knowledge of modern Finnish songs, it was refreshing to sample some. Though I had to translate the lyrics for this one.

I've been reading a manga recently, where it was claimed that "Scandinavian people listen to a lot of metal music", because "in cold weather and lack of sunshine it is easy to be in the low mood and metal music helps to lift it".

Personally, I found it far-fetched and rather stereotypical for mangaka to suggest, but then again, I would not know. So I wanted to ask, @Liue and @Saka, is metal actually more popular in Scandinavia?
