    Hello Legion Gamers!

Halloween is over but as the last hurrah of the spooky season, the Day of the Dead is upon us!

I was always intrigued by this particular holiday with colourful skulls and flowers and family. Although, sadly, I did not get to see the holiday in person yet, nor am I very knowledgeable about the traditions and reasons for it.

But this is the beauty of video games, they let us experience things we could not yet in real life, be it driving a truck, being a bizarre goat or fighting off an alien invasion, and games teach us new things, as we remember from our September discussions, so I thought there must be a game that would allow exploring this particular holiday!

However, as I was trying to remember games with that feature, all I could come up with was Grim Fandango:

And while it is an awesome game with groovy music, and is all in all one of the greatest quests EVER, it is only loosely connected to the Day of the Dead. And other than this one, I came up empty.

So I want to ask you now, maybe anyone has some good recommendations or advice? Let's see how many we can gather! And maybe later this week we can remember some moves, too! Luckily, the situation seems to be better there!

But for now, what game could immerse in the atmosphere and traditions of the Day of the Dead?

@M2lobaz Well, it is not overly covered just yet, it is mostly a Mexican celebration, but it is nice to explore other cultures. It may not be featured in games much, but it's been gaining momentum in cartoons in the last decade or so, with Book of Life or Coco and the like.

But it is a colourful holiday, I'd want to see it in Mexico one day. And it is a very nice setting for the games, too. After the first post, I remembered that the beginning of the Shadow of the Tomb Raider begins on the Day of the Dead, so you get to explore a city in celebration for just a bit. A small glimpse, but still. I wish they'd make Assassin's Creed Mexico or a Hitman mission with it.

@DracoTarot That's some strange solitare. But even if it's just a decoration theme, it's still something.

@DoctorEldritch This one is hard. It seems games having the Day of the Dead theme are few. Well, games solely based on the Day of the Dead holiday seem scarce. Can't find any other! 😕

@DracoTarot Maybe not solely based, that would be too into that topic, but a theme would be interesting. Holiday representation in games, be in Day of the Dead, or Halloween, or something else, is always an interesting feature.

@DoctorEldritch A game that will fit nicely with a Day of the Dead theme would be Red Dead Redemption.

Arthur Morgan finds himself in a small town in Mexico surrounded by people who are celebrating Day of the Dead. In this town, an immediate threat looms. The corpse paint gang of Al Paso! 😁

@DracoTarot Was there really something like that? Day of the Dead is a Mexican celebration, but you do not cross over to Mexico in Red Dead Redemption 2 where Arthur Morgan is. You do cross in Red Dead Redemption 1, or so I've heard (am still hoping they will port it to PC someday), but that game has no Arthur.

Trying to jog my memory now, what game do you mean?

@DoctorEldritch I neglected to add that Imagine Arthur Morgan finds himself in Mexico at a Day of the Dead celebration. I just made up a storyline that would fit Red Dead.

It's an imaginary mission and episode I've conjured in my mind.

    Apologies for the confusion 😊

I think Red Dead 1 is available on Pc as far as I know. I found this in a thread.

The Red Dead Redemption dream on PC finally comes true. Red Dead Redemption 1 is available now for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 while Grand Theft Auto 4 is available now on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Also found a link to download the game to PC on free games. net

It looks like a remastered version. Not sure!
