Salve a tutti, sono alla ricerca di un nuovo portatile e mi stavo orientando sulla serie Legion di Lenovo.
Non mi occorre per gaming "pesante" anche se tra le cose, gioco anche, quindi ben venga.
Ciò che mi interessa è avere un portatile potente, affidabile... e non rumoroso! (ad oggi ho un asus tuf gaming che fa un rumore assurdo ormai, anche se va ancora bene).
Non ho particolari problemi di budget ma voglio fare il miglior acquisto per qualità/prezzo.
Guardavo sul sito ora ed avevo dei dubbi, tipo il legion 5i pro mi da solo webcam 720p mentre il 5i mi fa settare anche webcam full hd.. perchè?
Volevo optare per il 5i pro per avere l'intel i9 ma mi "secca" non poter settare una webcam migliore a differenza dell'altro, che però arriva solo ad un i7.

In generale comunque cosa ne pensate di questi laptop? Il legion 7 nel 2022 verrà aggiornato? E' solitamente molto migliore? Voi aspettereste o andreste di i5?
Che poi anche i nuovi Thinkpad non sembrano male... vai a capire quando escono però.

Ho un Legion 5 Pro preso verso Luglio 2021, fascia di prezzo 2k /2.5k€
E' indubbiamente il migliore PC che abbia mai avuto, tra fissi, mobili o anche Mac che ho adorato in passato. Persino l'esperienza Windows migliora senza pari con Legion nella vita di tutti i giorni.
Alcune discussioni che potrebbero interessarti sono:

Spero di poterti aiutare e di spiegarti meglio le opzioni possibili non solo sui Legion ma in generale per la ricerca di un laptop con un buon rapporto qualità/prezzo, anche senza limiti di budget.
Partiamo da due premesse:
- I componenti più alti, come l'i9 o una webcam fullHD, non sono un ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo proprio perchè sono un upgrade "di lusso": spendi per il top di gamma ma se rapporti al prezzo dei componenti medi e medio-alti, stai spendendo molto più di quanto ricevi ( anche 50% in piùà del prezzo per una potenza maggiore del 10/15% )
- Le webcam dei laptop, a meno che designati per un utilizzo specifico da ufficio, solitamente sono mediocri e conviene sempre optare per una webcam separata ( ne esistono di ultrasottili e di qualità a prezzi accettabili ). Ora, non so se hai la stretta necessità di una webcam di qualità superiore, ma ti consiglio di vedere le review di canali come Jarrod's Tech, GizmoSlipTech e OwnOrDisown che mostrano proprio le qualità video e audio delle webcam. Non troverai mai qualità veramente eccezionali ( anzi, alcuni laptop la tolgono pure ). Quindi in sostanza se vuoi una webcam di qualità che va oltre le necessità medie degli utenti, comprala a parte.
Riguardo i componenti:
- Se fai lavori intensi con programmi che utilizzano specificatamente la CPU, allora punta all'i9, ma come ho detto prima se punti ad un utilizzo normale va benissimo un i7. La generazione 12 su laptop è abbastanza solida, se fosse stata la 11 ti avrei detto di valutare AMD per risparmiare.
- Come GPU va benissimo la 3070Ti, spingersi oltre ha senso solo se vuoi veramente puntare al top senza badare alle spese, per i discorsi qualità/prezzo che ho premesso. Per anni non avrai problemi e quando mai sarà, cambierai direttamente laptop molto probabilmente.
- Le RAM vanno bene per essere anche certi di non incappare in un problema avuto nel 2021 dove le configurazioni 16Gb ( 2x8 ) a volte avevano timing scarsi che riducevano le performance fino al 10% rispetto alla media ( molti optano a cambiarle più avanti ). Con 32Gb sei future-proof.
- SSD dipende da te, ma se non badi a spese optare ad avere 2 SSD da 1Tb l'uno ti toglie un sacco di pensieri, ma in ogni caso è uno di quegli acquisti che puoi anche rimandare e non cambierà molto coi prezzi offerti da Lenovo per quell'upgrade.
- La Tastiera è una tua scelta, ovviamente, come il colore. Il plus di 30 euro ci sta, anche se avrei preferito non fosse un costo extra ma incluso di base nel prezzo, da parte di Lenovo. La WLAN è un upgrade che dipende dalle tue necessità: solitamente una scheda WiFi6 è sufficiente, ma devi valutare tu se hai bisogno di quell'upgrade. Il prezzo di differenza è ragionevole da parte di Lenovo, quindi qui è ancora una tua scelta.
Riguardo l'opzione 5Pro o 7, la differenza è soprattutto nel form factor, ma a livello di prestazioni, rumorosità ed extra, col 7 paghi un po' di più rispetto a quello che ricevi. Se punti all'assoluto rapporto qualità/prezzo, l'upgrade al 7 non vale la pena. Il 7 è di solito leggermente meno rumoroso ma gli altri extra non sono estremamente rilevanti a meno che tu sei specificatamente interessato ad averli ( come, per dire, la tastiera RGB con i singoli tasti programmabili ).
Il mio consiglio è di puntare al 5Pro con le considerazioni che ho fatto sopra: eri già più o meno sulla buona strada. Aspettare significa anche subire variazioni di prezzo e ritardi di spedizioni che non possiamo prevedere: io per dire ho preso il mio 5Pro 2021 tra i primi in Italia a circa 1700€ ad Aprile dell'anno scorso, ma altri hanno poi subito rincari e ritardi spendendo anche 2000-2300 a Settembre. Il mercato si sta assestando, ma è ancora abbastanza volatile.
Riguardo i thinkpad... beh, ti direi di pensarci se veramente non pensi di giocarci molto pesante, perchè lì non c'è una ottimizzazione da gaming quindi rischi di tornare a sentire i jet dalle ventole.

In questi giorni ho guardato vari laptop, ho iniziato col Legion, per un attimo sono passato all'idea di prendere dei mac e di tenermi il mio vecchio asus per il gaming (funziona ancora ma fa un rumore tremendo) per poi ritornare sul gaming andando verso Alienware per poi ritornare su Legion ahah!
Per la webcam non è una necessità assoluta, faccio call di lavoro e userei il portatile anche per quello, ma piu' in là forse prendo un mac mini per queste cose, quindi me ne faccio una ragione.
Come nuova configurazione pensavo di orientarmi su questa:

Poi curiosità mia.. prima di questo "aumento di prezzi sproporzionato" quanto avrei pagato un laptop di questa fascia secondo voi? Secondo me almeno un mille euro in meno.

Rispondo rapidamente alle tue domande:
- Il Mac Mini si sta dimostrando veramente solido come laptop di lavoro, quindi se vai in quella direzione ovviamente è un altro tipo di apparecchio, e inoltre deve piacerti anche l'ambiente Apple ( per esempio io non mi ci trovo ). Ovviamente lì la qualità è più su certi aspetti grafici, tipo appunto le webcam di qualità più alta. Posso però consolarti dicendoti che mi vedo spesso con miei colleghi e amici, e sia il microfono integrato nel 5Pro che la webcam fanno bene il loro lavoro. Per le conferenze non avrai problemi.
- La configurazione è quella di un Laptop da Gaming di fascia alta. Non penso che farai grossi upgrade per il suo ciclo di vita.
- La 3060 potrebbe a lungo andare ( tra 2 anni circa ) essere stretta per alcuni giochi e funzionalità ( per esempio ho di recente preso un Quest2 e nel VR sento che la mia 3070 regge benissimo, ma credo sia proprio al limite e con una 3060 penso che avrei dovuto scendere a compromessi grafici già oggi ). Dipende dal livello di gaming che vuoi raggiungere: la 3060 insomma è ottima ma ha dei limiti che si faranno sentire, ma resta comunque godibile ( avrai i tuoi 60fps ). La 3070Ti è per alzare tutto al massimo e dimenticare ogni problema.
- La RAM è espandibile fino a 64GB ( testato da vari utenti ). Tuttavia 64GB è veramente ma veramente esagerato e quando ne avrai bisogno probabilmente vedrai altri portatili ( sempre a meno che usi programmi specificatamente RAM-intensive ). Ora, non so a quale Alienware ti riferisci, ma considera che solitamente i laptop hanno 2 slot per la RAM ( raramente e fastidiosamente, uno slot ha la RAM saldata e insostituibile ). Forse hai letto qualcosa come "up to 64GB", che significa molto probabilmente che supporta una combo 2x16GB, non che abbia ulteriori slot ( che è comunque una caratteristica comune ).
Riguardo l'aumento di prezzo... ti direi che quel laptop sarebbe costato circa 2200, perchè considera che il mio costava subito dopo il primo preorder di lancio 2000 euro, con 512GB/1TB di singolo SSD, Ryzen 7 5800H, 16GB di RAM e 3070RTX. Aggiungi circa 200 euro per gli upgrade che hai scelto e siamo lì. Se pensi che con lo sconto arrivi a circa 2500, alla fine sono 300 euro di aumento che non è bellissimo, ma neanche difficile da digerire dato il periodo.
Penso andrò di 3070ti perchè usare oculus è sicuramente una delle cose che voglio fare nel prossimo futuro. Considerando di tenerlo almeno un 3-4 anni (ovviamente preferirei di piu', però chissà come vanno le cose..).
64GB di Ram sicuro sono praticamente inutili, però a me piace sapere che volendo posso espanderla, da qui a qualche anno magari 64GB diventano utili.. per ora sicuramente 32GB sono pure troppi per me, ma ce li metto :)
L'alienware guardavo l'ultimo m15 sempre con itel 12th gen. A parità di componenti però il Legion costa un po' meno e in realtà chiedendo anche a qualcun altro "neutrale" mi consigliavano il Legion rispetto all'alienware, legion che comunque preferisco anche per estetica, l'alienware ha il suo fascino però mi sembra un po' "poco serio" avendo robette tipo il pulsante d'accensione con la testa di alieno e cose così.. ahah.
Per gli aumenti, mi riferivo piu' a come era il mercato anni fa, dove ad esempio il mio asus tuf gaming con una i7 di ottava generazione, 16gb di ram, 256 ssd costava circa 900€, bei tempi.
Ma vabè, a me serve ora, quindi amen.

Ancora edit: Ok, guardando meglio il 5i pro ha lo schermo 16 e 500 nits. Lo stesso WHD sul 5i è 300 nits ed è un 15.6.
Quindi di base devo scegliere se preferisco 500 nits, schermo leggermente piu' grande ma webcam HD o se 300 nits (quindi 200 in meno), ma webcam FHD e schermo leggermente piu' piccolo (che a me però va benissimo).
Non potevano mettere la FHD sul pro e via? :D
Le differenze sono solo queste o mi perdo qualcosa? I 200 nits sono una bella differenza nello schermo WHD?
@Reculver Eh, fino al 2019 circa uno poteva prendersi un PC di fascia altissima a 2000 euro con componenti sbroccate, ma purtroppo non penso torneremo lì se non prima di 2 anni... e forse mai più, perchè anche se si riapre la disponibilità dei componenti solitamente si torna sempre ad un prezzo più alto come nuova base dopo le crisi. Semplice inflazione: è il corso naturale delle cose.
Rispondo al resto:
- La newsletter mi appariva come popup quando aprivo il sito Lenovo, con scritto dello sconto offerto se registrati. Mi è arrivata nell'arco di qualche ora su due mail diverse: controlla lo spam ovviamente, o prova un'altra mail.
- La differenza tra Legion 5 liscio e 5Pro la puoi leggere nel mio post linkato sopra già da @Wersus. Nei modelli 2022 non mi pare ci siano molte variazioni ( se ce ne sono ). Dati i migliori schermi di base, il sistema di aerazione leggermente migliore ( il che significa anche marginale migliore performance ) e lo chassis dal design un po' migliore, opterei per quello per una differenza di prezzo giustificabile appunto dallo schermo.
- Ora non ho controllato il tool di configurazione, ma leggi anche questo nella mia guida: esiste uno schermo per il 5 base che è ASSOLUTAMENTE da evitare perchè di qualità veramente pessima. Sul 5Pro vai sul sicuro: hai quello spazio in più che ti farà firmare un contratto di sangue con te stesso per non andare mai più sotto i 16:10 ( te lo dico per esperienza ).
- Per la webcam credo che sia per via delle cornici: quelle del 5Pro se non erro sono molto più sottili di quelle del 5 proprio per i 16:10, e quindi forse non ci entra per questo.
Insomma, considera questo: se c'è una cosa sulla quale non puoi transigere è proprio ciò che vedrai per ore e ore finchè non prenderai un altro laptop, quindi proprio tra schermo e webcam non mi porrei mai il problema.
Nota sugli Alienware: come raccontato in altre parti del forum, sono andato sui Legion per vari motivi dopo mesi di ricerca. Gli Alienware sono genericamente sempre troppo "truzzi" come design e spesso sovrapprezzati ( come i Razer ). Trovi sempre un equivalente ad un prezzo minore ( appunto Asus e Lenovo ). Di Lenovo mi piace anche il look serio ma comunque con stile ( per dire, trovo orribili i design con un dragone enorme sulla scocca o quella enorme scritta TUF degli Asus che mi ricorda troppo la parola "tufo" che in siciliano sono mattoni magmatici stra-abusati ovunque ).
Sì alla fine opterò per il pro. La mail per lo sconto non mi è arrivata e vedrò di contattarli oggi, 10% non sarebbe per niente male.
E poi.. vedremo quando arriverà.

(c) You have the full power and authority to enter into these Terms and to the extent that any entity is bound hereby, to bind such entity, these Terms, and performance of obligations under these Terms do not and will not violate any other agreement to which you or such entity is a party; and
(d) You will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to those set forth in these Terms.
Compliance
When using Legion Community, you will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and all terms of use and similar rules concerning your use of any Social Media Outlet or other third party publishing platform.
Upon our request made to you from time to time, you will cooperate with us and allow us access to your systems, communications, and records solely in connection with determining your compliance with these Terms.
Visiting Third Party Websites
The Platform may contain links to third party websites, advertisers, products, services, offers, or other events or activities that are not owned or controlled by Lenovo. Lenovo does not assume any responsibility for any such third party sites, information, materials, products, services or offers. If you access any third party website, product, service, or content from the Platform, you do so at your own risk and you agree that Lenovo will have no liability arising from your use of or access to any third party website, product, service, or content.
Trademarks and Ownership of Intellectual Property
Lenovo™, the Lenovo logo, and certain other product names and phrases are trademarks or service marks of Lenovo in the U.S. and/or other countries. The absence of a trademark or service mark designation next to a product or service name or logo belonging to Lenovo anywhere on the Platform does not constitute a waiver of Lenovo’s trademark or other intellectual property rights concerning that name or logo used or referenced on the Platform.
The Platform contains content owned or licensed by Lenovo ("Lenovo Content"). Lenovo Content is protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret and other laws, and, as between you and Lenovo, Lenovo owns and retains all copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent and other intellectual property rights in and to Lenovo Content and the Platform (the “Intellectual Property”). Lenovo reserves all rights in the Lenovo Content and Intellectual Property not expressly granted in these Terms. Lenovo does not permit the use of the Lenovo Content or its Intellectual Property in advertising, as an endorsement for any product or service, or for any other purpose, commercial or otherwise, without the prior express written permission of Lenovo.
Termination
You may terminate use of the Platform at any time for any reason (in other words, un-register). Lenovo may terminate or suspend your right to use the Platform at any time, with or without cause or notice to you. Lenovo may terminate the Platform at any time without notice. Upon termination, all licenses and other rights granted to you in these Terms will immediately cease. Following termination, Lenovo may retain your Content for a commercially reasonable period of time for backup, archival, or audit purposes. Furthermore, Lenovo and its other users may retain and continue to use, store, display, reproduce, modify, create derivative works of, perform, and distribute any of your Content that other users have stored or shared through the Platform.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Lenovo and its employees, officers, affiliates and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including without limitation, reasonable attorney's fees and costs, arising out of or in any way connected with any of the following: (i) Your Content or your misuse of the Platform; (ii) your breach or alleged breach of these Terms; (iii) your violation of any third party right, including without limitation, any intellectual property right, publicity, confidentiality, property or privacy right; (iv) your violation of any laws, rules, regulations, codes, statutes, ordinances or orders of any governmental authorities, including, without limitation, all regulatory, administrative and legislative authorities; or (v) any misrepresentation made by you. You will cooperate as reasonably requested by Lenovo with respect to any such claim. Lenovo reserves the right to assume control of the defence or settlement of any such claim, and you will not in any event settle any such claim without the prior written consent of Lenovo.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England.
Entire Agreement; Severability
These Terms, together with Lenovo’s Data Privacy Policy and any amendments and any additional agreements you may enter into with Lenovo in connection with the Platform, shall constitute the entire agreement between you and Lenovo concerning the Platform. If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid, then that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.
Limitations of Liability
Neither Lenovo nor its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, third party content providers, sponsors, or licensors warrant that the Site will be continuous, uninterrupted or error-free. THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ITS CONTENT, IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, LENOVO HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ANY WARRANTIES BASED ON A COURSE OF DEALING. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LENOVO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR USE, RESULTING FROM YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE LEGION COMMUNITY, EVEN IF LENOVO HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF ANY SUCH DAMAGES IN ADVANCE.
