@DracoTarot These days, for sure, it is best to wait for the "final version", I do not have the time for every patch and DLC that comes along.

I never did get used to touchscreens; to me, they were always an annoyance at best and a cause of frustration at worst.

Well, you are the tarot reader here, if anyone knows what may happen in the near future, huge or not, that's you 😉

Glad you liked Phas Zero. Here is one more you may like, Karma: The Dark World:

It is reminiscent of David Lynch, Christopher Nolan, and Hideo Kojima set in 1984 East Germany. It was released a month ago, and even has a free demo you can try. @ZaidH maybe this one will interest you too, see how much of an inspiration Hideo Kojima was for it 😉

Oh dang, I'm really liking the art direction in this game. It's kind of a blend between Silent Hill 2 and The Evil Within.

@ZaidH A fan of horrors? I am not a big fan of those myself, I do like Lovecraftian, but that's about it. Silent Hill and The Evil Within are a bit too much for me 😅

Here is something else both you and @DracoTarot may find interesting: this week, Moroi will get released:

It is based on Romanian folktales, but developers also say there'll be a ton of dark humour, bizarre weapons and gory puzzles.

@DoctorEldritch If you haven't played Resident Evil 4 yet, then maybe that's the game that'll ease you into the horror genre 😁 It's more action than horror, but you'll have a great time transitioning into other horror games.

WOW, Moroi looks phenomenal! You know a game is gonna be good when Devolver is publishing it.

@ZaidH Maybe, but who has that amount of time? I am struggling to keep up as is without adding the horror genre to my repertoire. Not managing to play the game in time and then encountering spoilers, that's the real horror 😱

Devolver has an eye for quality, that's true. And the overall setting is intriguing. I am also curious about how it would compare to The Blood of Dawnwalker, they are both working with somewhat similar motifs (Romanian folklore), but in two very different ways.

@DoctorEldritch Especially if there's a patch overwriting the previous patch and then after patching there's another patch uninstalling the game and then downloading the whole game with new patches. 🥴

Some touchscreen are not very user friendly that's why I make sure the phones refresh rate and quality is good.

I might be a Tarot reader but do not readings a bit differently. I focus only on past and present events. Future events are manifested though ones own doing.

I'll leave future predictions to the gifted clairvoyants. 😁

Why do they have to release so many good looking games this year at once? Developers seemed to be bored or something. So many choices, so little time. 🤣

@DoctorEldritch OMW! I can't keep up anymore. Moroi was added to my list of many.

@DracoTarot Indeed. One of the reasons I prefer gotys and such.

Would a refresh rate make the touchscreen more responsive?

Ah, so it is a bit like Soothsayer from the second Kung Fu Panda:

I'd like to think, if anything, it is a symptom of the industry gradually recovering. That we get many good games in the middle of this turbulence is a good sign.

Ah. How about Cronos: The New Dawn, you got that on your list yet?

@DoctorEldritch These days a higher refresh rate is crucial for touchscreen.

A touchscreen will less than 60 frames per second is not worthwhile for gaming. Those. I prefer a phone with at least 100 hertz.

It like most of the companies are mad at each other for some reason. An internal conflict of some sort. I heard more studios closed doors and other got rid of investors. Hopefully the balance will be restored.

I have Cronos in my list. I'm going to wait a little while longer before downloading.

@DracoTarot I can't game on a touchscreen at all, no matter what the refresh rate is. Difficulties with controls aside, it gets so smudgy...

What you call "companies are mad at each other" some may rather call "healthy competition" 😅 But yeah, hopefully we're on the climb now again, however small.

I am not sure if I will be getting it myself. It looks good and Lovecraftian, too, but it may be a bit too much for me, I'll need to see.

@DoctorEldritch A touchscreen is a bit tricky to master. RPG games are fine but FPS games are a nightmare. Yeah, the screen do become smudgy.

Healthy competition is fine and agree is a good thing in the industry but taking it as far as suing each other the whole time does seem a bit far fetched.
