    Ph'nglui mglw'nfah Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn Legion Gamers!

The annual Lovecraftian Days have started on Steam. Although it is not a global Steam fest but rather a third-party event presented by Fulqrum Publishing, it showcases plenty of the upcoming Levcraftian games:

The festival is threefold: firstly, it showcases the upcoming games and some even announced release dates. For example, Static Dread: 15 Nights at the Old Lighthouse revealed a release date for the 7th of August:

Then, aside from the upcoming games, it shows games that are already released, like Forgive Me Father 2. @DracoTarot you may want to check that one out for music 😉

And finally, there are various discounts, too:

Some of them are not fully Lovcraftina genre either, like the Rogue Trader. So even if you are not a fan of Lovecraftian themes, you may find something you like with a discount 🤑 Surprisingly, there seem to be a lot of Lovecraftian retro-style shooters coming our way, if you like them, then there are some interesting choices around.

Personally, I am intrigued by The Horror at Highrook.

I like card games, and the premise looks promising, and there are only 2 weeks left until release. My worry, though, is that Lovecraftian games are often unlucky in the gameplay aspect (even looking through games on offer in this fest, many are Mixed on Steam), hopefully, it will not be the case with this one.

@Telomina, @ZaidH, @GoLLuM13, @SKYTRiXSHA, @Eirikh and @miskkie and I'll tag you all again in case you see interesting upcoming releases, or maybe even something you like on a good sale offer. And @LS4460 I saw you liked the Metro 2033 Redux, maybe you'll see something you like here too 😊

    Iä! Iä! Cthulhu fhtagn! 😉

@DoctorEldritch After playing "Worshippers of Cthulhu" Demo a few times to see if there was any different way of playing through the game, I am looking at their release with scepticism.
Luckily "The Horror at the Highrock" seems to bring more mystery and options of alternative gameplay, I just might have to lay the cards of that one.

@DracoTarot You have your work cut out for you, I was surprised by how many there are, and how many are upcoming. Even if many of them are either Mixed or Mostly Positive, I remember you mentioning that you want to see them all. Have you tried Forgive Me Father 1, the first part, or do you plan on jumping right into the sequel?

    Why, what's wrong with it?

The Horror at Highrook looks promising indeed. I hope they will have good gameplay as well, this seems to be the Achilles heel of many Lovecraftian games, I think. I am also looking at RailGods of Hysterra, it seems to be curious, but I am a bit worried about the co-op part. Even though they say you can play it alone, some mechanics may be too tailored to group gameplay. Like how Ship of Fools you can technically play alone, but it is probably harder and not as fun.

@DoctorEldritch My main mission is to collect them all. It won't be easy because of storage space, but I'll try to manage. I haven't played Forgive Me Father 1, and not going to skip to the second one. I'll first download one and then number two.

@DracoTarot A noble quest. I came accross a few that were not mentioned as a part of Lovecraftian Days, I will write about them soon so none would slip through the cracks for you 😉

But for now, enjoy the Decadent teaser:

Not long until the gameplay reveal now...

@DoctorEldritch The story line is fixed (The red thread) Ones you have played through it there is no real idea in doing a replay, because it is the same game you will be playing again, mostly or at least with very few deviations. There will never be an alternative ending before a new DLC makes it possible. So take your time and savor the story.

The Horror at Highrook is the same,, I just played the demo. The story is great and the gameplay really makes a fun investigative game where they can write many DLC to expand the story and missions.

@ChristianRasmussen I think there are many Lovecraftian games like that. It is probably hard to make a truly non-linear story in that setting, the eldritch themes call for a level of story restriction. Most of the time, those games are linear, like Call of Cthulhu. Even games that tried to give some freedom did it rather clunkily: Sinking City only gave you a choice at the very end, and did not give much freedom to finish quests in multiple ways (unlike, for example, Witcher 3). Or Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones tried to be a proper full RPG, but is only Mixed on Steam, so...

I think you're right and DLCs may add variety, if they are going to make them. Hard to say if they will.

Have you tried playing Tropico 6, by the way? It has those standalone missions and no "red thread" campaign (they do have a few smaller ones DLCs though), but it seems to be doing well for itself. Maybe something like this will happen with Worshippers of Cthulhu too...
