    Hello Legion Gamers!

Yesterday, Commandos: Origins came out. Thought the gameplay is praised, the game seems to have a few bugs to iron out. While fans are waiting for that to happen, today brings us another promising release: Blue Prince is coming out (if all goes well):

This is a roguelike exploration puzzle, an unusual genre combo in itself, but it seems to be so well executed that some say it is a strong GOTY competitor already (high praise considering Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is coming out in two weeks, too). Check out one of the reviews:

The premise sounds intriguing to me and I am definitely going to give it a try. If anyone else wants to give it a try, it should come to Steam and GamePass soon (unless it gets delayed for some reason). @Telomina what do you think? I know you like sims, but how about architectural puzzles?

It doesn't really feel like it's for me. But I had heard people talking about it, but not knowing anything about it. So I'm glad you included a review video since I hadn't looked it up hehe. Now I know it's not for me at least.

@Telomina That's fair, and knowing what you like is important (and useful). I sometimes had situations when I was younger where I'd start a game, play some and decide I did not really like it, but then thought "oh well, I might as well finish it since I bought it and played some" (it was during pre-Steam times when games came on CDs in shops). It took some work later in life to break away from that habit.

Maybe you'll see something you like in this week's EGS free offers? Though it is slim pickings this time around. 3 options, but none of them are "very tempting", at least, to me...

@Telomina So I tried it out yesterday evening. It is good, but, to be honest, seems a bit overhyped to me right now. The gameplay is interesting and unusual and the premise is uncommon, but one of the things about games like this, I find, is that it is quite hard to find that sweet point between chance and skill.

Many deckbuilding games struggle to do so, to be fair. This is not a proper deckbuilder, but it does take core mechanics from that genre. And so far, it leans a bit too much to the "chance" side, to me. But it is the first impression, chances are that as I get more familiar, I may change my opinion.

But as of right now, I'd say that the game is good, I enjoy it, but I would not recommend it to someone who is not really into the puzzle/roguelike/deckbuilder genre. Those are my two cents on a first impression.

I love it!! I´ve been playing a lot this weekend, and I´m totally hooked : O
Maybe it´s because I didn´t pay that much attention to the hype (I was only familiar with the title because it was included in game pass), and I didn´t expect much from it. In fact, the trailer didn´t catch my attention at all XD
Regarding the chance aspect, the more you play, the more you can diminish this "chance" mechanism and the more strategic it becomes.

@CandelaSynth I actually finished it this weekend 😄 By that I mean, I reached room 46, but there are some riddles and puzzles still left.

Do you still feel like that now?

I am still just binge playing Infinity Nikki mainly. But I get a new game tomorrow 🤫

@Telomina now I am closer to what @CandelaSynth said: later in the game, you get options to adjust the chance factor of some aspects to certain extents, and it helps. That being said, I am a bit annoyed now about how some choices are permanent and unchangeable, and the game does not stress it enough, I think. I made some decisions when upgrading some rooms that I now regret, but I can't change them and try new strategies I could try if I had the option to change them (unless I start over, but then I will lose all the progress). I mean, one of the allures of roguelike games is that you can try new strategies and approaches every new run, but permanent upgrades like that lock you out of some of the options.

Oh, exciting! Are you allowed to share more, or is it all NDA hush-hush? 😉

Oh, I see how that can be frustrating. Permanent upgrades that might have been better done in another way definitely sounds like a disservice in this game. Today I raided into a stream that was playing Blue Prince to see a bit more and they were clearly annoying at a game mechanic. So it doesn't seem to be for me.

I am now in the safe zone of saying: I got Indiana Jones and the Great Circle- Premium Edition sponsored for Playstation 5! So I streamed it today, seems to be very interesting. But my clear lack of "common knowledge" (I'm more of a specific knowledge type of person) was painfully clear to everyone.
