    @ZaidH Action-heavy like...DOOM or something like that?

    I do not mind downgrade gameplay-wise, I played Yakuza games in order of release, but I did go from Kiwami 2 to Yakuza 3, that was a big step back too.

    I got myself METAL GEAR SOLID - Master Collection Version. It was on sale today, as luck would have it. I think it is the right one to play, is it? I am not sure how important are MG1 and MG2 for the overall plot, are those two isometric games with the view from the top?

    There was a usual argument about that, release date vs. story in this case, some said to start with Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater instead of the first game like you did.

    @DoctorEldritch Lols for me, DOOM induces a different kind of zen 😆 But yeah, DS would be a great game to play after something like DOOM.

    Nice! Congrats on the purchase! And yep, MGS1 is the perfect starting point if you're going with release order. MG1 and MG2 are super important lore wise and have that top down view you mentioned. There are some solid (and short!) summary videos on YouTube, so if those games aren’t your thing, you’ve got that option.

    I'm actually so happy to see someone experience the MGS series for the first time 😁 Hope you've an amazing time with it!

    @ZaidH DOOM has a distinct vibe, true. But if you did not mean something quite like DOOM by "action-heavy", then what did you have in mind? 🤔

    I'll give MG1 and MG2 a go, and see how I feel about them. In the end, even if they are not as enjoyable, they should not take too long, coming from an earlier time when the game duration was shorter. And YT will be my last resort 😅

    This is something to look forward to for sure. I have a list of series that I want to get into. I did Yakuza already, and I am working on Shenmue, but there are others on my list. Tales of is a good one, and Final Fantasy is another one I am yet to play. And thanks to @Telomina I now added Atelier to the list. Ah, where to get the time...

    @DoctorEldritch I never played Shenmue but it always looked appealing. But at this stage I think I might be better off waiting for a remaster or remake..

    It is actually somewhat confusing at this point about the prospects of that. Shenmue was always a somewhat niche game, same as Sleeping Dogs and early Yakuza games (before that franchise took off). Instead of a remake, they did a re-release of parts 1 and 2 in 2018, two years before part 3 came out. So now I am not sure when the remake will happen, if at all, maybe they think that for now, this re-release is good enough...

    @ZaidH it's interesting how, when we talk about some game, even not a new one, it makes the news. Seems like soon I'll be a part of something 20 million big 😅

    @DoctorEldritch Woah those are some huge numbers 🤯 From now on let's talk about Rockstar's Bully more, cuz damnit I'm salivating at the mouth for even a small drop of Bully-related news 😭 Pretty freaky how Game Informer rose from the ashes while we kept the thread about its closure active here 😯

    I do wonder if DS sold more because it had Kojima's name attached to it. The marketing for this game was top-tier, but people were still wary and labeled it as a walking/delivery simulator. Maybe it was Kojima's Hollywood pals who were mostly responsible for reeling in the crowd? Looking forward to your take on these sales figures after you're done with DS 😁

    @ZaidH I am not sure about Bully, it may be a bit too controversial for modern audiences. Even 20 years ago it was banned and censored in some places. But Rockstar is famous for breaking such conventions, we'll see. It may depend a lot on how well the next GTA is received, I remember us talking about concerns about it.

    And thank you for reminding me about the Game Informer. I should really go back to that post and mention it... 😅

    Your comment about DS and Kojima made me remember The Nightmare Before Christmas and Tim Burton😄
