The issue of smells... you can even incorporate consumable capsules for the smells, as happens with vapers, the issue of mixing them to get something unique is much more complex, but even more... the smells are not perceived immediately in the environment and can vary depending on the place where they are spread.

But using certain specific smells such as grass, sea, sweet, saturated environment, wet earth, plague, iron (blood)... as a contextual smell for a mission or long sequence of the game would be interesting.
It would therefore have to be a reduced catalog of less than 16 fragrances, even only 8 initially. And willing to work on it... I consider it more gratifying to have a surround sound job where you can offer those sensations in an acoustic way, thus tricking your brain.

For this, good headphones with surround sound are essential, some games change radically with their use.

    ---

Subtitles, automation apps, AI and then modifying by hand. When it comes to long videos or a regular job, it's better to learn a tool to help you automate it. Maybe the first time it will take you 20 hours... but the next time you need it, thanks to the knowledge you've acquired, it will take you much less time :).

Every day this will be easier, there are even applications that record and apply automatic subtitles, although with songs it may be more complex when syllables are cut, lengthened, etc.

Personally, when I stream, I leave the ones for the games on to make it easier for people.

    ---

And since we're talking about that...
Win+Ctrl+L = Windows 11's integrated automatic subtitle system
    Win+H = Windows 11 voice dictation

With AI, all of this will be greatly enhanced by being able to facilitate automatic translations and even synthesize smells in an artificial and profitable way XD.
El conocimiento es poder, úsalo bien, pues su mal uso conlleva a la destrucción.

@Blackgem that made me remember those headphones that Dyson made:

    Name: 571-Overview-BreathPureAir-AudioOnly-14_updated.jpg

Size: 45.6 KB

It was designed as a wearable air purifier (plus headphones, of course), but maybe it could be changed to be the first "in-game-smell device"...

@eljjota To be fair, back when I was working in game localization, we used to transcribe and translate by hand too, but mostly to catch proverbs, metaphors, that sort of thing.

@DoctorEldritch It's going to be a huge undertaking and not sure how they are going to do it. The latest I read on MSN was CES 2025 when Sony unveiled its latest leap in immersive gaming technology: the ability for players to experience in-game scents in real life. Dubbed Sony’s “Future Immersive Entertainment Concept” (FIEC), the system was demonstrated using the popular title The Last of Us, captivating attendees with its sensory-forward approach to gaming.

The CES showcase featured a large cube made of high-definition Crystal LED panels, immersing participants by allowing them to step into their favourite games. Alongside the visual experience, the system integrates atmospheric elements to indulge players in the game world.

Sony is also seeking immersion without VR headsets. According to developers, Sony’s FIEC will seemingly eliminate the need for bulky Virtual Reality headsets. It relies on its proprietary Crystal LED technology to project ultra-high-definition visuals paired with synchronized environmental enhancements like scent and sound.

@DracoTarot Ah, well that's a bit different, not a home-based system, but a specifically built one. Like escape or VR rooms, something purpose-built and specifically designed for a particular experience. I thought it was something that everyone would experience at home.

Well, so long as Sony is not run by someone named Quentin Beck, I think we'll be fine 😉

@DoctorEldritch @eljjota @Blackgem. Thanks for the advice and recommendations. I usually use Adobe Premiere and CapCut for editing and do not struggle with adding captions and subtitles.😊

To give a better understanding of what I meant in my post, the videos she sent consist of three different compositions within one recorded video and the total length of the video is 29 min. The songs she performs on piano and keyboard were written by herself and are not published songs or well-known gospel hymns. She also does not sing along with the songs so there's no vocalization.

Ai does not recognize the songs and is not able to generate any subtitles and auto-transcribe.

I had to listen to each section of the song, add the lyrics and place them strategically where they were supposed to go one by one and unfortunately had to type each section and then add.

That's why it took ages to finish them but I have worked on a few strategic points I can utilise to make things easier the next time she unexpectedly drops another one. 😂

@DracoTarot Ah, I see. It may be more complicated for songs indeed. Not sure how well software can do that these days. There must be something out there, but possibly not in free access...

@DoctorEldritch There may be so much software out there I can use but I am sure it's going to cost a lot monthly or yearly.

I'd rather save the money and find ways to make it easier for myself.

@DracoTarot True, though considering how much time it took you the first time, maybe you could charge your friend? With Friends&Family discounts, of course. Maybe barter for doctor checkups and/or prayers 😉

@DoctorEldritch It's her first YouTube channel and she's a little scared it would not work out for her. I reassured the good doctor to first see how things go and not to rush with the channels. One weekly upload would be ok for now. I will obviously be the moderator of the channel and do all the edits and uploads.

When I have the go-ahead to change the channel settings from Private to Public, then I will start charging her fees.

I also designed her logo and watermark. She has over 6000 followers on TikTok and 8000 on Facebook. She paid me a small fee for the work.

I don't see why the YouTube channel won't be a success. If all her followers subscribe on YouTube, she's going to have her hands full.

Usually, Pastors are good at attracting attention and I see it with other channels. Some have over a million followers.

Either way, I need to go check out some of the free games on the Epic Store. Forgot all about it. 😃
