    Hello Legion Gamers!

Epic Games Store offers games for free every week. This week the free game is...

    Turmoil

Drill for oil like it's 1899! Turmoil offers players a visually charming, tongue-in-cheek take on the simulation genre inspired by the 19th century oil rush in North America.

Have not played this game, but seems entertaining enough. If you do not mind being a greedy oil mogul, but if people did not have an entrepreneur strike to them, Monopoly would not be so popular 😅 And it has multiplayer. @j7schultz do you think it could be a good choice for one of our Game Nights?

A bit of oil moguling, anyone?

@j7schultz I think that Witch It might have been more fun with more people.

@DoctorEldritch Turmoil looks fun to play. I love games where you are in search of precious commodities. 😂

Hope you had a great weekend.

@ChristianRasmussen I wonder if they included any social commentary like how Tropico did. The petrol industry has a lot to parody and make fun of.

@DracoTarot precious commodities are good. I prefer luxury goods myself (like chocolate), but to each his own 😅

My weekend was actually rather hectic, I was flying back from visiting family for the Christmas season. Hope yours was not quite as busy.

@DoctorEldritch I also would prefer searching for a bar of chocolate instead of a bar of gold. It would be an interesting concept especially if Sony can pull through with their plans.

I don't know if you have heard or read about it. Sony wants to design hardware you can use in games to help you smell your environment. Imagine smelling the chocolate you find. It could be a wonderful experience but it also can be a horrible one, to say the least. Smelling corpses or weird and untasteful smells within a game could be traumatic.

Running past a bloater or a floater and smelling the vile odour is a big no for me. 😂😂

Mine was also hectic. I'm busy helping a Doctor with a YouTube channel. She is also a Pastor and wants to have her sermons put on her channel.

I had to edit 2 vids and the one took me over 13 hours. She only plays her composed songs in the video and she asked I must add the verses to her video. I had to thoroughly listen to where to incorporate the closed captions and manually type them in.

The Youtube editor is unable to do that so you can imagine how many times I had to go back and forth to ensure everything fit perfectly together.

The other video took me 9 hours to edit.

@DracoTarot Oh my. This is quite an undertaking, I mean, smell as a sense is arguably more complex than visual or audio. And it is complicated to synthesize it properly, I would imagine then that every gaming device would need to come with a mini chemistry lab that will need to synthesize complex smells on the go, or every smell-game will need to come with a special cartridge with pre-constructed smalls to go with it, but then while games can be distributed digitally, these cartridges will not be. And in both cases, it may need regular replacement as the smell runs out (like perfume, for example). The logistics behind such technology may prove a bit too complex. Unless they develop something that would affect the smell centres of the brain directly...

Doctor and Pastor is an interesting combo. I guess for those cases where medicine is helpless, she can offer a prayer.

I think there are other software these days that help you to subtitle things, even free ones. I actually expected YT to have an in-built function like that, surprising that it can't do that.

13 and 9 hours is a lot. Maybe @eljjota or @Blackgem or @tomrollauer have some tips on how to do it faster, with their experience in YT?

    Hi @DoctorEldritch @DracoTarot

wtf! have you written everything manually? Ufffff
Many programs have the function of transcribing the audio, to create the subtitles.
Adobe premiere, Filmora, CapCut, etc., have that function, although it is not 100% perfect but it helps you save time.
