    Hello Legion members,

Here is a selection of games which should be released in this month of September 2023 in chronological order (and alphabetical in the case of the same date). Of course, there won't be every game released this month, so there might be a game you're waiting for that's missing, if so, please let us know.

@GoLLuM13 Thank you for this! Baldur's Gate 3 is a bit out of place, though, it is just arriving at consoles, but it's been out and well-received for a bit now. I guess Starfield is the star (pun-pun-pun) of the month (though I, as per my protocol, will not play it until GOTY, of course).

I am following Lies of P, that's the one I will likely play next depending on the DLC roadmap, if they make one.

But not before Phantom Liberty, of course! Finally, I get to play Cyberpunk 2077, I've been waiting 3 years for this!

@DoctorEldritch Yes BG3 was already on previous' month selection, but I had to put it there for PS5 players, and it will come on Xbox Series on a later date too 👀

And you chose really good games with Starfield, Lies of P and CyberPunk 2077 😁

To be fair, they are all good this month, it's just the rest all have some drawbacks for me. I do not "get" sports games, so NBA 2K24, The Crew Motorfest and EA Sports FC 24 have no appeal. Witchfire is in Early Access so it does not count. Payday 3 seems good, but I have not played 1 or 2 yet. Ad Infinitum is okay, but I worked on localizing Call of Duty: WWII back in the day, so got my fill of Reich zombies for a while.

And it's ok. If I liked and wanted to play every good new game that came out, I'd never have time for anything else. 😅

But you must be excited about Mortal Kombat?

@DoctorEldritch Yeah there are too many games and most of them are good, I think it's impossible to play them all.

To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Mortal Kombat, I'm more a, Street Fighter, Tekken, and SoulCalibur player

None of the releases seem too appealing for me, just not my cup of tea. But there's a late August release that I am enjoying at the moment:

It's nice that a 11 year old MMO that isn't WoW is doing well enough to get another expansion.

    Truer words were never spoken.

This comment made me think, actually, how do you make a preference in choosing a fighting game. I am more of an RPG kind of guy, so when choosing a game to play there, it is world lore and story that is of the main importance, and gameplay features then.

I may be wrong, but fighting games seem to be more similar to each other, gameplay-wise, and not sure how important lore is for them (though Mortal Kombat has lots of lore). How do you form a preference towards one fighting game and not the other?

@Saka That looks good, and reminded me of when we played it, indeed nice to see the game is still alive after all this time. I guess with the game so old the whole generation of gamers grew up playing it by this point, and WoW too. @Liue can probably testify to that. It's nice that developers keep making things for the fans.

Though I am a bit surprised about your lack of curiosity towards Cyberpunk 2077. It had its faults, but it is by the creators of Witcher games, after all. But to each his/her own, like @GoLLuM13 and I were saying.

@DoctorEldritch Cyberpunk 2077 is just not my cup of tea. Doesn't matter that the same studio developed it, those are two different games.

I have played WoW for nearly a decade and a half, but the game has changed a lot in these years. You can see the old gameplay in the classic realms, but you don't really get the genuine experience of those times. The entire community changed, and not just a little. There is so much push on efficiency these days. It feels like people have forgotten how to play the game for fun.

GW2 has a bit of the problem too, but the attitude and gameplay changes are not as severe.

@Saka True. Though the same studio does inspire hope for quality, it does not mean you would want to play every game that they make. Though for me, it is often the case.

But with WoW, shouldn't it be "your own adventure"? As in, you and your party or clan decide how much pressure it should be to prioritise efficiency? Is it an issue even if you do find like-minded friends who do not value efficiency as much?
