Gaming has provided an escape from the stress of daily life. It has served as a tool that helps me de-stress while at the same time provide an excellent medium to improve my cognitive skills and hand-eye coordination which itself provides immense benefits to other aspects of my health and life overall. I like the brain storming aspect of approaching different challenges.

Some people considered gaming as a childishly addictive things
But It ain't no more in this new century and this new era.
Its not only about the game you played but to feel it. Especially the improvement of the graphics and animations.
I personally play for stress release and to connect with friends.
Gaming can gave us a very memorable moment like Dota1 a decades ago with friends or colleagues.

HOW GAMING CHANGED MY LIFEGaming helped me escape reality when needed, and opened me up to a whole new world of skills I could learn such as... game development , 3d modeling, editing etc.

The laptop would be really handy since I travel a lot and can't always bring my pc with me.

Gaming has been one of the few constants in my life ever since i was a kid. Apart from the thrill of competing against fellow gamers, I believe that gaming has helped me become someone who can adapt to whatever life throws my way because just like in games, life can be unpredictable and being able to accept that and adapt to it is a great skill that helped me evovle.

I have also made some great friends from different parts of the world while gaming, exposing me to diverse cultures which has helped me develop on a personal level as i have always been interested in getting to know people from all over the world and their prespective on everything. By gaining that exposure, surprisingly my approach to games has evovled and I believe that made me a better gamer as well!

Gaming is a very underrated skill over-all. It has the potential to impact an individual’s life in various ways. For me personally, I would like to share a few skills I have picked up from gaming.

    1. ANTICIPATORY THINKING – As a teenager, I used to play Age of Empires a lot. There were times during the campaign of the game, where I was at war and there were times when it was peaceful. However, each time there was no war, my efforts went into still creating safety measures for my tribe and ensuring I am well prepared for any upcoming invasions. Such is life – full of ups and downs. AOE has taught me to always stay humble during my ups and remain patient during my lows, while continuing to prepare for the future at all times.
    2. FRIENDSHIPS – Gaming is a sweet spot for us introverts when it comes to building healthy relationships. I saw that a lot of my friends who would not socialize much at school or college would be happier interacting with their friends on Steam more openly. There is more freedom and less barriers to express I feel when it comes to building friendships over the web and engaging with them during gameplay. For me, I enjoy talking to my gamer friends (online only) occasionally, but our discussions are more related to our gameplay and not very personal. And I love to keep it that way because I consider them an escape from my daily life which gets mundane beyond a point. But with them, it’s always fun!
    3. STRESS BUSTER – I work in a data science role, which means I must work very meticulously. However, after a day of work, it gives me immense pleasure to just sit back on my couch and play a bit of mindless Hot Wheels on my PS5 for a few minutes. It’s almost like a massage for the brain and brings back all the mental energy, I feel!
    4. IMAGINATION – I strongly believe that gaming from childhood has helped me the most in being creative. During gameplay, I am either fighting against time, or an opponent, or my old records. However, the goal is to improve and do better. And to do that one has to always find new ways of achieving the same objectives. And gaming enhances that nerve greatly.
To sum it up, gaming is a great skill to pick up. Not all skills and habits should translate into money. Some should also get you happiness and peace within. I think gaming cuts that mark quite well. For me personally a great part of my personality is attributed to my passion for gaming. It’s great to see such forums where gaming is getting due value and awareness is being created around it. Kudos!
