    Hi everyone!

Big news this week: Netflix has confirmed it is moving into video games!

➖ Netflix disclosed the much-anticipated move as they've had the slowest growth in 8 years: only 1.5million new subscribers in the April-June quarter.
➖ In the same period last year, they had more than 10 million new customers!
➖ In the whole year of 2020, 37 million signed up as the pandemic prompted a surge in demand from consumers as they were spending more time at home.

Netflix said games would be available for paying customers at no extra cost with an initial focus on games for mobile devices. "Games will be included in members' Netflix subscription at no additional cost similar to films and series," the company wrote in yesterday's note to shareholders. "Initially, we'll be primarily focused on games for mobile devices."

Size: 16.9 KBGetting to play games AND watching series for the same cost sounds like quite a great idea! Don't you agree?

It now counts more than 209 million paid-up members in total, having seen a surge in sign-ups when consumers were spending more time at home during coronavirus-related lockdowns.

Netflix's first games aren't expected until next year. And mobile might just be the start.

Do you have a Netflix account? Do you think this would be a good idea?

I always referred to Steam as the Netflix of games, and now Netflix wants to become Steam. Crazy times.
