Alice in Borderland es una serie japonesa de suspense y ciencia ficción basada en el manga de Haro Aso. La historia sigue a Arisu, un joven desmotivado que, junto a sus amigos, es transportado a una versión paralela y desierta de Tokio. Allí, los participantes deben superar juegos mortales para extender su "visa". Cada juego está representado por una carta de la baraja francesa, y tanto el número como el palo indican la dificultad y el tipo de desafío;
♠ Picas: pruebas físicas, pura acción y resistencia.
♦ Diamantes: desafíos mentales, lógica y estrategia.
♥ Corazones: juegos psicológicos, donde la traición y las emociones mandan.
♣ Tréboles: trabajo en equipo, aunque confiar puede costarte la vida.
Pues bien, tras esta breve introducción: hace algo más de dos meses se lanzó el teaser y, hace dos semanas, pudimos ver el tráiler oficial de la tercera temporada. Obviamente, si no has visto las dos primeras temporadas, omite este post y corre a verlas: te estás perdiendo una serie fantástica.
Mi opinión sobre lo que vemos en el teaser y el tráiler:
Era previsible que los personajes Sunato Banda y Oki Yaba, quienes participaron en el juego de la Sota de Corazones junto a Chishiya, regresaran. Recordemos que ambos decidieron quedarse en Borderland tras ser cuestionados sobre si querían volver al mundo real o permanecer allí.
En el teaser vemos a Usagi reviviendo recuerdos, como la escena del hotel del Sombrerero. Más adelante aparece en lo que parece ser un hospital; no está confirmado oficialmente que esté en coma, pero sí sabemos que experimenta recuerdos, sueños y alucinaciones relacionados con Borderland.
Por su parte, Arisu lleva una vida feliz con Usagi en el mundo real, incluso estando comprometidos o casados. Sin embargo, en el tráiler queda claro que los recuerdos de Borderland comienzan a regresar poco a poco. No es que no recuerde nada, sino que esos recuerdos reaparecen de forma fragmentada, hasta el punto de empujarlo a regresar de manera voluntaria a Borderland para salvar a Usagi (lo vemos hablando con Ann mientras ella le dice "dos minutos").
En esta temporada también conoceremos a un nuevo personaje: Ryuji, un investigador del más allá (afterlife researcher). Según lo revelado oficialmente, logra contactar con Usagi y empieza a cuestionarla sobre los sucesos vividos, por lo que probablemente sea él quien incentive o provoque su regreso a los juegos.
También vemos varios juegos nuevos y otros que salieron en el manga pero no habíamos podido ver.
Quedan muchas preguntas en el tintero: ¿volveremos a ver a Chishiya, Kuina o Aguni? ¿Quién es realmente el Joker? ¿Cuál es el suceso que provoca que Usagi regrese a Borderland, quizá para saber más sobre su padre? ¿Veremos a personajes del manga como Hayato Dōdō, Yūji Mahiru o Eiji Mitsurugi?
Teoría de Reddit que me parece muy buena; compara esta temporada con Alice in Wonderlands; A través del espejo:
La idea es que la nueva temporada no solo siga inspirándose en Alicia en el País de las Maravillas (como en las dos primeras), sino que tome como base A través del espejo y lo que Alicia encontró allí (Through the Looking-Glass).
En el libro, Alicia cruza un espejo y entra a un mundo invertido donde todo funciona al revés. La teoría es que Arisu entrará a una versión invertida de Borderland, con reglas opuestas y lógica distorsionada.
Elementos clave de la teoría:
La temporada podría estructurarse como un gran tablero de ajedrez, donde Arisu empieza como un peón y debe superar pruebas hasta convertirse en “rey de Borderland”.
Podrían aparecer versiones espejo de personajes antiguos (incluyendo antagonistas como Mira o incluso Ann).
Se menciona que Ann, al no mostrarse del todo en la temporada 2, podría reaparecer como la “Reina Blanca”, mientras que Mira sería la “Reina Roja”.
El Joker (que Banda entrega a Arisu en el teaser) puede simbolizar el portal o invitación a volver.
Personajes del libro como el Unicornio y el León podrían estar representados por Kuina y Niragi, respectivamente.
Chishiya podría tomar el rol del Caballero Blanco, ayudando a Arisu en su recorrido.
Otros posibles paralelismos: Humpty Dumpty como un Hatter/Aguni invertido, el Rey Rojo como un nuevo antagonista o incluso la proyección del subconsciente de Arisu.

Dioxxxx, va a tocar verse las dos primeras temporas otra vez (que cometí el craso error de ver la nueva de Arcane sin verme la anterior y no me acordaba de nada 😅).
Teoría que comentas, está muy bien eso de la comparación con "a través del espejo" (me leí Alicia en el país de las maravillas, está muy chulo, pero es algo antiguo...me debería leer este también!), pero a lo que vamos: lógicas distorsionadas? un Borderland al revés? No sobreviviría ni un episodio en la temporada original, así que en esta del "mundo invertido" no daría ni para extra XD
He vuelto a ver el trailer hoy y creo que la premisa principal va a ser que NUNCA dejaron Borderland y que la vida feliz de Arisu era un sueño dentro del coma : (
Me llama mucho la atención ese nuevo personaje, Ryuji: "investigador del más allá"?? Entonces...es que están muertos o siguen entre la vida y la muerte?
Y espero ver de nuevo a Chishiya, que me hacía mucha gracia (el único personaje que corría de las balas con actitud casual y las manos metidas en los bolsillos...). Y Kuina me gustaba mucho, no sólo porque sea un personaje super potente, sino porque me pareció muy llamativo que pusieran una trans en la serie.
El manga se acabó donde se acaba la segunda temporada, no? O quizá acabó de otra manera...¿tú sabes algo de esto? 👀
@CandelaSynth No quiero hacer teorías muy rebuscadas, pero claro, la tuya podría encajar también. De momento me quedo con lo que he visto: estaban en coma por el meteorito y los que estaban en Borderland se debatían entre la vida y la muerte; los supervivientes regresaron y los que perecieron allí terminaron muriendo.
Los que han permanecido en Borderland, como Banda o Yaba, siguen en coma y es posible que sean los maestros de juego en esta temporada. Espero que el Joker no sea ninguno de ellos, se vería muy raro.
Y en respuesta a tu pregunta: correcto, el manga termina en la temporada dos, pero esa baza del Joker estuvo muy bien tirada. Comprendo que te gustase el cierre, pero yo lo vi inconcluso y me gusta que vayan a profundizar más. Además, Haro Aso está completamente involucrado en la producción, como lo estuvo en las dos anteriores, así que espero una temporada buena y un final a la altura de la serie. No tiene por qué ser feliz, pero sí espero que no deje hilos sueltos como los que quedaron en la segunda.

A ver, la segunda temporada en general me pareció peor que la segunda, porque me resultó como apresurada y abría muchos hilos (que como bien dices, no cerraron). Sin embargo, el final me pareció bueno (aunque es un poco demasiado parecido a "todo fue un sueño"), sobre todo por el juego de palabras (Borderland: tierra en el medio, o en el borde, es decir, el coma).
Si no cambian lo que sabemos (durante un tiempo, creo que en la primera temporada, parecieron insinuar que la tierra había sido tomada por extraterrestres que se entretenían matando a los humanos en estos juegos!), los personajes que se quedaron seguirían estando en coma pero de alguna manera, tienen influencia en los que volvieron al mundo real...
¿En qué consiste esta influencia? (será tipo Freddy Krugger que se aparece en sueños?), ¿qué control sobre los personajes "despiertos" tienen?
Y lo más intrigante, ¿quién es el joker y qué quiere?
He visto por ahí que se le relaciona esta carta con Caronte de la mitología griega, el barquero que llevaba las almas del mundo de los vivos al de los muertos, cruzando el río Estigia. Así que sería el amor y señor del Borderlands y querría llevarse las almas de Arisu y Usagi, porque se le escaparon la primera vez XD
Igualmente emocionada por esta temporada, no me la esperaba en absoluto 🤩
Y para tí, ¿cuál fue ese hilo "abierto" que te dió más rabia?
@CandelaSynth pues el hecho de que no recordaran nada del Borderland, se sintió como vacío, y ver que pasaba con la gente que se quedaba como Banda o Yaba. Pero sobre todo era saber quien estaba por encima de los maestros de juego, y al final resulta que es el Joker. Incluso en el manga se sentía inconclusa, espero descubrir más en esta temporada.
Esa serie me encantó, lloré mucho, me enamoré de la premisa y de algunos personajes, pero ojalá esa temporada sea tan buena cuanto las 2 primeras. Espero que no sea el típico "vamos a extender lo máximo que se pueda y exprimirla para ganar pasta" que suele pasar con un montón de series.

Lo del joker tiene lógica, no en vano es la carta más poderosa de la baraja.
Para mi la explicación de los que se quedaron en Borderland es que se quedan en coma.
Pero seguro que explicarán más sobre este misterioso mundo en esta nueva temporada!

Y veremos en qué queda, pero tengo la sensación de que lo van a hacer bien (sobre todo porque el creador de la idea original está en el proyecto, así que quizá pueda acabar en la serie lo que dejó en el aire en el manga).

Legion Community is provided by Lenovo through the services of Standing on Giants subject to these Terms (“Terms”). We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time and without notice. If we amend the Terms, we will post the amended Terms on this page and indicate at the top of the page the date the Terms were last revised. Your continued use of the Platform after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
By accessing or using Legion Community you signify that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, then you should not access or use the Platform.

Your Use of Legion Community Platform

Your Content Posted or Linked to Legion Community
Lenovo allows you to submit posts or link content to Legion Community, including photos, images, videos, sounds, comments, links, tweets, likes, and other materials. A Legion Community moderator will moderate all posts after publication. Lenovo reserves the right to remove user’s content that it considers to be irrelevant to the purpose of the platform, or that it considers violates any of these Terms. Lenovo may also post or link to the Platform any of your Content that you make available to Lenovo for the Platform. You are solely responsible for your Content that is posted or linked to the Platform and Lenovo accepts no liability for your Content.
You grant Lenovo and other users of the Platform a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license to use, store, display, reproduce, modify, create derivative works of, perform, publish, re-post, re-tweet, and distribute your Content on or in connection with the Platform.

Representations and Warranties
You represent and warrant that:
(a) You will abide by and comply with these Terms;

Compliance
When using Legion Community, you will comply with all applicable laws and regulations, and all terms of use and similar rules concerning your use of any Social Media Outlet or other third party publishing platform.
Upon our request made to you from time to time, you will cooperate with us and allow us access to your systems, communications, and records solely in connection with determining your compliance with these Terms.
Visiting Third Party Websites
The Platform may contain links to third party websites, advertisers, products, services, offers, or other events or activities that are not owned or controlled by Lenovo. Lenovo does not assume any responsibility for any such third party sites, information, materials, products, services or offers. If you access any third party website, product, service, or content from the Platform, you do so at your own risk and you agree that Lenovo will have no liability arising from your use of or access to any third party website, product, service, or content.
Trademarks and Ownership of Intellectual Property
Lenovo™, the Lenovo logo, and certain other product names and phrases are trademarks or service marks of Lenovo in the U.S. and/or other countries. The absence of a trademark or service mark designation next to a product or service name or logo belonging to Lenovo anywhere on the Platform does not constitute a waiver of Lenovo’s trademark or other intellectual property rights concerning that name or logo used or referenced on the Platform.
The Platform contains content owned or licensed by Lenovo ("Lenovo Content"). Lenovo Content is protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret and other laws, and, as between you and Lenovo, Lenovo owns and retains all copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent and other intellectual property rights in and to Lenovo Content and the Platform (the “Intellectual Property”). Lenovo reserves all rights in the Lenovo Content and Intellectual Property not expressly granted in these Terms. Termination
You may terminate use of the Platform at any time for any reason (in other words, un-register). Lenovo may terminate or suspend your right to use the Platform at any time, with or without cause or notice to you. Lenovo may terminate the Platform at any time without notice. Upon termination, all licenses and other rights granted to you in these Terms will immediately cease. Following termination, Lenovo may retain your Content for a commercially reasonable period of time for backup, archival, or audit purposes. Furthermore, Lenovo and its other users may retain and continue to use, store, display, reproduce, modify, create derivative works of, perform, and distribute any of your Content that other users have stored or shared through the Platform.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Lenovo and its employees, officers, affiliates and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including without limitation, reasonable attorney's fees and costs, arising out of or in any way connected with any of the following: (i) Your Content or your misuse of the Platform; (ii) your breach or alleged breach of these Terms; (iii) your violation of any third party right, including without limitation, any intellectual property right, publicity, confidentiality, property or privacy right; (iv) your violation of any laws, rules, regulations, codes, statutes, ordinances or orders of any governmental authorities, including, without limitation, all regulatory, administrative and legislative authorities; or (v) any misrepresentation made by you. You will cooperate as reasonably requested by Lenovo with respect to any such claim. Lenovo reserves the right to assume control of the defence or settlement of any such claim, and you will not in any event settle any such claim without the prior written consent of Lenovo.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England.
Entire Agreement; Severability
These Terms, together with Lenovo’s Data Privacy Policy and any amendments and any additional agreements you may enter into with Lenovo in connection with the Platform, shall constitute the entire agreement between you and Lenovo concerning the Platform. If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid, then that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.
Limitations of Liability
Neither Lenovo nor its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, third party content providers, sponsors, or licensors warrant that the Site will be continuous, uninterrupted or error-free. THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ITS CONTENT, IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMISSIBLE BY LAW, LENOVO HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ANY WARRANTIES BASED ON A COURSE OF DEALING.
