Tokyo, Japan – In an exceptional achievement that confirms Nintendo's dominance of the portable gaming market, the Nintendo Switch 2 has achieved overwhelming success in Japan, breaking sales records in its first month on the market.

According to a report published by the prestigious Japanese newspaper Yomiuri Shimbun, the new console sold more than 1.5 million units in Japan in its first month alone. This number not only places it at the top of the best-selling consoles, but also surpasses legendary consoles that have made their mark in the gaming industry.

For comparison, Switch 2 sales surpassed the Game Boy Advance, which sold 1.36 million units in five weeks, as well as the PlayStation 2, which sold 1.13 million units in the same period. This achievement is even more impressive when you consider that Nintendo's new console achieved this number in a shorter period of time.

Perhaps the most striking indicator of the magnitude of this success is its comparison to its predecessor. The report revealed that the Nintendo Switch 2 sold three times as fast as the original Switch upon its launch. This tremendous growth demonstrates that Nintendo has not only maintained its broad fan base but has also expanded it in an unprecedented manner, promising strong global performance for the console in the coming months.

With this historic performance, the Nintendo Switch 2 cements its position as a force to be reckoned with in the gaming world and sets a new standard for success in the industry.

What really impresses me is that Nintendo managed to achieve these incredible sales without making major changes to the console itself. That says a lot about their loyal fanbase and the strength of the lineup of launch titles like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bonanza.

Honestly, this level of success feels like a well-earned reward for Nintendo’s consistent focus on quality and timing. It’ll be interesting to see how they keep the momentum going in the coming months!
