    Hello Legion Gamers!

Just a quick drop so it would not fly under your radar: System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster got released today!

Has it really been a quarter of a century already... Still, if you missed the infamous SHODAN during the last 25 years, or if you never met her and have no idea who she is, now is a time to get (re) acquainted and enjoy the game that became one of the pillars of the FPS RPGs.

Indeed, without System Shock, we would not have Bioshock or Prey, so not only is this a good old game, but a video game history lesson too 😉

And who knows, the remake of the first System Shock had very good reviews, even despite its technical limitations. Back then, System Shock 2 built on and improved almost all aspects of its predecessor. The remaster, too, has Very Positive reviews and even multiplayer, building on the remaster of the first System Shock

So who knows, with them both performing so well, we may even get part 3 at some point in the future, especially since there were plans and a story for it back then before they got scrapped. Someone could dig them up, and then we'll have a new-and-improved modern SHODAN making a comeback. And GLaDOS will finally have a friend 😅

Heard the name over the years a ton, but never played the original. Can't say the remaster looks that appealing to me 😅

@miskkie I played the first remaster, I'd say it may have more of a historic value. It was one of the first games that gave birth to the whole genre of FPS RPG the way we know it today. So while it may not be the most graphical or technical, it is interesting to play it and see how the genre began. But I agree that not everyone may like to do that, and you probably need to be a particular fan of FPS RPGs to really enjoy that.

I am playing it in small doses now. It is frustrating at times, and bulky, that is true, and I can't make myself to play it for long, but it is enjoyable enough to keep playing by myself rather than, for example, watch a YouTube video of someone else doing it. But as with any remaster, it is an acquired taste, and there is nothing wrong with not liking it, too.
