    Hello Legion Gamers!

A bit of news for all you cinephiles and movie buffs out there: Warhorse Studio shared that Kingdom Come: Deliverance II will have a Cinematic Cut, and it will be featured at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival:

Exciting news, I am not sure if something at this scale has been done before. Daniel Vávra and Petr Pekař are credited as directors of the movie. Here is an in-depth article for those who want to read more about it.

I hope it goes well, because if so, then we may get more examples like this in the future, similar to how there are now more game-to-series adaptation projects around after the Fallout success.

I am only worried about two things: the first one is spoilers. I have not played the game yet, so I need to be careful and not spoil it for myself. But those who like watching streamers play without playing themselves, here is a chance to do it in style on a big screen 😉

And the second thing is, and it ties into why I have not played the game yet, is that there are several more DLCs planned for the game, so really, the whole story has not been told yet. Not sure how they tackle that in the movie.

Still, this is good news in my book, and I am interested in following what comes out of it.

Cool idea. Maybe a proper standalone movie next?

@miskkie Could be. I read that some time ago, voice actors for the 2 main characters recorded the last lines, I posted about that here. But the rumour has it that Warhorse Studio is thinking about continuing the series. So unless they would call the cast back, another explanation would be to have a time jump.

If they want to continue Henry's story, then the jump could be for about 10 years, that's when historically, the Hussite Wars came in full swing, so it is an interesting period to explore. Though they could probably use the same actors, 10 years is not that big of a leap.

Still, what I am getting at is, if they wanted to, they could make a movie that would cover what happened between, for example, KCD2 and KCD3, what Henry was up to during the time that we do not see in the game. That would make KCD a multimedia franchise, though, and that can be both good and bad.

So just a movie may, indeed, be a good step too. The only thing is, a movie based on a game is not as original as a cinematic version, many games have movies these days, and not all of them are good. Borderlands comes to mind, for example. It can be hit or miss. @JokerZida, @ZaidH and @GoLLuM13, I saw your comments in that old KCD2 thread, so I tagged you here in case it would be of interest.

@JokerZida You're welcome! Not too long now, the festival is on the 9th of July, but I am not sure how fast it will be released for home viewing. I don't suppose there would be any cinema releases, but it would be interesting if there were, at least a bit. We'll see what they decide to do with it.
