@DoctorEldritch I meant to say part 4. I would like to download part 3 for free.

@DracoTarot It was free one of the Christmases on EGS, I think. With some luck, it may be again.

Part 4 is open for pre-orders now, and costs a pretty penny. I am not prepared to pay that much...

On a related note, they are preparing a Borderlands Fan Fest broadcast this coming Saturday (June 21st), where they will reveal some gameplay videos, which will be on their Twitch channel. In case you're interested.

@DoctorEldritch The price is really tio high and it seems most new releases are. I won't be able to afford it. Guess I'd have to wait a while before playing number 4.

Thanks for telling me about the stream. If I'm not busy I will pop in an watch. 🙂

@DracoTarot Probably. I did mention in a different thread to you about that whole pricing situation with Borderlands 4. But I want to say, Borderlands 4 is one of those games that you can afford to wait for, it has no complex story where spoilers would do much damage, and gameplay-wise, you know what to expect. It is fun in it';s way, but the kind of fun you can put off for a while, at least, for me.

You're welcome. That's just in case you fancy an interest, I mean, it's just gameplay, not news or release advertisements or anything like that, but still in case you want to see more of th gameplay, this will do it 😉

@DoctorEldritch I watched the gameplay vids yesterday. I'm afraid Borderlands 4 will be one of those games I won't be able to run on my pc well. Hardware issues arises again.

I am Doomed for a while with new releases. I guess the game will be old news when I will have a chance to play it in the future. 😶

@DracoTarot Such is the case with some of the newest releases for me as well. I am not too concerned with Borderlands 4 in particular, it is not the game that I'd want to play as it gets released anyway, those Borderlands games often have several DLCs after launch.

As I am used to waiting for GOTYs, I am not too bothered about games becoming old news before I get to play them. Case and point, right now I am playing Nier: Automata, it's been quite a while since it was released. The one thing I am wary of and need to look out for is spoilers, though. How important is it for you to play the new games as they come out?

@DoctorEldritch For me it depends in the genre and if I have followed the games history since it came out. It's the only time I would be a bit frustrated when I'm not able to play the new releases.

It's not a big deal really and waiting for a while for DLC's and such is a good idea.

@DracoTarot Honestly, Borderlands was never that tempting for me, it is one of those "I'll play it if nothing better is out that I can run" kind of game. Maybe because I could never play it with friends. Have you played previous parts alone or with a company?

With Borderlands, DLCs can be particularly critical. I like sniper class, for example, but in Borderlands prequel, it was not a class available at the start, you needed to wait for a DLC with a sniper character. I think Borderlands 4 has the same thing, none of the character types availasble in the base game are of the sniper archetype.

@DoctorEldritch The first time I played Borderlands I went in solo. Then me and my friends completed co-op modes.

I don't mind the classes and I'm not fixated on a specific type. At least you are able to carry a sniper rifle including other weapons which comes in handy.

@DracoTarot Ah, then you can compare. I only ever tried it solo, it was ok, but just that. I would guess with friends it's better?

True, you are not restricted by weapons, but you do get those skill trees tied to specific weapon types. Mordecai would get more out of Sniper Rifles than Lilith, for example.
