@DracoTarot I MK is a fighter to play now, with that new movie coming up and people sharing if they like casting or not. And yeah, controller will be a factor. I do not really enjoy fighting in general, but I am also better with keyboard and mouse than a controller, despite practising with it somewhat.

Well, with sdeck builders, it is either that building a deck is a part of the gameplay itself, so it may take time, but it is part of the fun. Like you would not be upset if a game takes 30 hours to beat instead of 20, because that means 10 more hours of fun. I try to look at it this way, at least. There are exceptions, of course, where deck building is more tedious than fun, or too luck-dependent, but after a bit, you can spot games like that fast enough and know when to move on to something better.

I'd think slow levelling up is a feature of MMO games, it needs to be, otherwise many people would cap and get bored.

@Eirikh Did you manage to grab it? Your comment was after the free offer ended, so I feard you might have missed the window to get it for free. And you're right, MK and others may be better examples. Are you looking forward to the next MK movie? It seems to be a hot topic right now. I do not follow it too closely myself, but I hear people are divided about casting.

(I love Street Fighter series games) 😁

It's been 30 years since we had a Street Fighter movie. I'd say it's overdue for one.

@DoctorEldritch yes I grabbed it. Thanks for checking on.
yes. I like the movies. Even the old mortal kombat 2 movie that got slaughtered

@DoctorEldritch I hope the new MK movie will be worthwhile to watch. The cast looks good and the storyline seems to fit.

Fighters, racing and some RPGs are much easier to play with a controller. I also prefer a keyboard and mouse but due to some game's hectic key bindings, I'd rather use a controller to avoid all the nasty hand and wrist cramps. 😊

I try to avoid the tedious ones for now and play games with easy deck builds. I think I got a bit lazy and time is a factor. 😊

That's why I enjoy MMO's so much. I do not want to rush things and try my best to do specific builds. Currently, I'm levelling up my Bezerker in Torchlight 2 and my build is solely based on poison and ice damage.

@DracoTarot I heard some people were less than happy about the cast, but personally I do not follow MK so I do not know it one way or the other. Glad you're finding it good.

Fighters and Racing sure, I can see that. I've been trying to train myself to be better with a controller in some RPGs though, but it's been challenging so far, I am better with the keyboard and mouse still...

Time is always a factor, that's true. and at the end of the day, when it comes to games, you do you, play however and whatever makes you the happiest, that is what this is about when it comes down to it.

MMOs are my time factor, they demand so much of it I avoid them 😅 Poison and Ice sound more like something that Undead would have, they are closely associated with frost and decay. Barbarians are more brute force and adrenaline rushes and screams, in popular culture. Why go for this build?

@DoctorEldritch As long as the producers stick with the original concept, I think MK won't fail and ticket sales will be good.

My weapons of choice will always be a keyboard and mouse. When I had an XBOX I used a keyboard and mouse often to play games. My biggest struggle with a controller was playing FPS games. I couldn't master it at all and was bad at playing against others.

I love MMO's. I don't mind putting in the time especially if the game is worthwhile. The reason I decided to focus more on poison and ice damage is in Torchlight 2 most bosses and enemies use brute attacks rather than focusing on magic. They hit hard and their armour is quite strong. I would have chosen a Mage for an Ice and Poison build but I had already chosen the Berserker and didn't want to start all over again.

I've noticed with a combination of Ice, poison, brute and agility the enemies are much easier to defeat with a berserker especially when playing on the hardest level. 😊

Here is my build so far. I have still a long way to go.

@DracoTarot You never know, the first movie flopped, after all.

Ever since @GoLLuM13 helped me buy a controller, I've been using it in those games where developers recommend it themselves.

With varied success. I can't work my way around 3D RPGs like Yakuza or Horizon or Assassin's Creed, it is somehow too difficult to control both movement and camera at the same time. But scroll metroidivanias are better.

I do not usually play MMOs myself. For me, games are either a personal experience, or a shared one among a known group of friends, but not among the crowd of strangers. But that's me.

Isn't it a bit unbalanced though, that the way to overpower bosses you need Ice or Poison? I mean, if your build did not allow for them, like a pure Berserker, then how would you progress, only by forming a part with wizards? I can see the benefits of the ice+poison+strength combo, I am just wondering what people who can't do it need to do? Or is Torchlight built in such a way that you can adjust the build easily? From the image, it looks like most of your effects come from gear?

@DoctorEldritch The first movie didn't flop as badly as I originally thought it would. The second one will be much better than the first because of all the extra effort they put in with the cast. Let's see how things turn out.

Most of the time, I also struggle with a controller. Fighting games and racing games, on the other hand, are much easier than RPGs.

MMOs are my favourite at the moment. I guess it's because of all the effort and time needed within the game, and there is no need to rush things.

Torchlight is a bit different, and your builds do not have to follow a certain pattern. The combination of poison, ice and strength goes well with a berserker. Some bosses have weaknesses and are vulnerable to certain abilities.

Most of my build is gear-based. Take my armour, for example. When an enemy attacks, my armor deflects the damage back to the enemy, either with poison or ice damage. When an enemy is vulnerable to ice damage, my hit points increase, and the enemy is much easier to defeat. With the rest of the gear, the game works on the same principle.

@DracoTarot Personally, I wish they'd do an animation instead of a live-action. Effects would be cheaper to make then, and they could make it more of a spectacle, and involve an original voice cast. But we'll see. Besides, we have that upcoming Devil May Cry animated series to look forward to as well, so we have variety now.

    Just a couple more days.

Ah, well, I do not really play fighting games or racing games where controller really shines, so maybe I can't really appreciate it fully because of that...

So then, how much of the build is skill/ability/perk-based and how much is gear-based? Could you change your whole build by changing only the gear?
