    Hello Legion Gamers!

Yesterday was the anticipated State of Play Livestream that showed a few upcoming releases. Check it out:

Here it is in its entirety, almost 5 hours. Too long? Here is an edited version:

That's under an hour. Still too long? Have a six and a half minutes digest of only game announcements:

I mean, I like game presentations as much as the next games, but 5 hours is a bit... 😅

A few interesting goodies here. @ZaidH while Mark of the Ninja 2 is a dream, maybe Shinobi would work in its place for now. And hey, Ichiban is visiting Dave the Diver!

And @GoLLuM13, how do you like that Metal Gear game they presented? I still need to play that series at some point...

Interestingly, Days Gone is getting a remaster when the sequel got cancelled. Who knows, if it does well, maybe they will decide to revive those plans? And there are a few more interesting things for me like Lost Soul Aside or Tides of Annihilation, but I prefer to be a bit of a sceptic about those and wait until they are released. They look impressive, but lately, we have had a few games with visuals as their strongest suit while lacking in story or gameplay.

Even the promising South of Midnight may be reviewed as having style and story but lacking combat variety by IGN, Eurogamer and GamesRadar. Not that I hold journal opinions in high regard these days, even if three of them notice the same thing. But that's a rant for another time 😅 The point is, better wait until the game is out and see how it does.

So how about it, see anything you'll be waiting for in the State of Play? 😉

Saros from Housemarque piqued my interest.

The games that I liked on the 7 minutes video are "obviously" Shinobi : Art of Vengeance and Split Fiction (that I'm also waiting).
I'm happy to see the Onimusha Games there.
Some games look really nice, and I might keep an eye on them among them Tides of Annihilation and Mindseye.
I smiled and was telling to myself is this Digimon ? And yes it was Digimon, seeing this game coming in 2025 is... intriguing.
And I end up on what made me laugh the most ... "Days Gone Remastered" this game was released in 2019 on PS4 one year before the release of the PS5 and is just amazing and doesn't really need any enhancement, but what is "funny" is that they cancelled the second episode of this game because according to them ~10 million copies is a bad result 🤣 but it looks like it's good enough to do a remaster 🤦‍♂️ seriously, I used to like Playstation a lot, but since the PS5 generation I see them like clowns 🤡

@miskkie That one is interesting for me too, but it is one of the cases where I want to wait for a release to see if they managed to make a good game. I don't think there is a gameplay trailer yet?

@miskkie That's important these days, you can't really judge a game by just how it looks no more...

I am interested in Shinobi but wonder if it will be a platformer like Mark of the Ninja was, or more metroidivania? Works for me either way, I am just curious.

I may look into that Onimusha, that flew under my radar, never heard about it before...

👆 This, exactly. I can't get what they're thinking these days. Hopefully, if the remaster does well, they could revive the sequel, but like you said, how could it do well if the base game is not even that old? We may end up with poor remaster sales being an excuse not to come back to the series then. If they wanted to make some money from Days Gone, the best thing would be a sequel, but those are pricey...

My interest in Dave the Diver has suddenly peaked 😂 And yeah, Shinobi looks FABULOUS!

@GoLLuM13 I audibly sighed when Days Gone Remastered showed up. So many great IPs are waiting to be revived, but nope, we just get remasters and remakes of games that already have great visual fidelity. Bloodborne also sold pretty well, yet it's still stuck in a 30fps, aliased state.

@ZaidH Dave the Diver is a very good game, and I think you, in particular, may especially enjoy it, it has a lot of fun little cultural references. I liked it, but took a break when I learned they are working on a big Jungle DLC for later. Now I am waiting for that to come out first.

@DoctorEldritch even worse than that, they started working on Days Gone 2 but plugged it out for this Remaster apparently, while fans were asking for a second episode 🤦‍♂️ I don't understand Playstation anymore, they stopped listening players. Imagine a company doing a geographical restriction because they want to force PC players to subscribe to their in-house baked network (network that was in outage for more than 20 hours recently), and then they decide that the account to this network is only optional and people can play solo games without it, but they don't lift up the restriction, this is Sony and the PSN.
As for Shinobi, if it's anything like the game I used to play on Sega MegaDrive/Genesis it should be a platformer mixed with action / hack'n'slash, we were evolving in one direction through different level, unlike the Metroidvania where most of the time it's the same big level that you explore in different directions

@ZaidH I don't know if you heard that, but there were a "custom" patch on PS4 that brought 60fps and fixed many bugs on Bloodborne, the people behind it received recently a letter from Sony telling them to shut down the project and take all the files out of internet or else ... 👀
