@DracoTarot To be fair, I'd be most excited if they gave us a release date, that way we could start looking forward to it in specific date terms. But many developers are wary of doing so until GTA 6 does...

@DoctorEldritch A release date would be most welcome. Well, GTA 6 is the main game everyone is looking forward to.

@DracoTarot Actually, I personally am not so much. I loved RDR2, but GTA and its "modern gangster vibe" was never that appealing to me. I played GTA 5 and it was good, but that's about it. I am sure it will be a good game, but I am not part of the hype on this one 😅

@DoctorEldritch I'm looking forward to playing the new GTA. I am not a huge fan but heard there are so many new things to look forward to.

If it's not that great I'll drop it quickly and move on. 😂

@DracoTarot I am sure it will be enjoyable, it's just, RDR2 with its Wild West vibe is more romantic. Outlaws, train chases, frontier, all that. Modern setting with modern crime stories is a bit too relatable, it does not have the same romantic flair for me. But that's just me, I mean, it's like movies. Some like The Hateful Eight or The Godfather, but others enjoy Pulp Fiction more 😅

@DoctorEldritch I fall in the Pulp fiction category. I enjoy all the Quinton Tarantino movies. I must say he is a weird person with his foot fetishes and all but his directing and writing skills are top-notch.

In my opinion, RDR2 is the best game ever made. 😊

@DracoTarot Tarantino is great, though Pulp Fiction was just an example of a more modern-age crime movie. The Hateful Eight is also Tarantino, so what makes Pulp Fiction better? 😉

RDR2 is certainly impressive in its collection of factors. A good story is combined with good graphics and a vibrant world, it is a very good game. But I dare say, if graphics were not good and the technical side was older (like in RDR), it would be a good game but not as great as it turned out. For me, it is a good example of how great the game can be if all the right elements (plot, actors, graphics, world, gameplay) work together. A benchmark, as it were.

@DoctorEldritch I wouldn't say Pulp Fiction is better than The Hateful Eight. Most of his movies appeal to his audience and I think people see his work as art in a sense. His movie ratings are pretty much the same.

The developers of RDR2 were able to put together the right formula for the game and in the end, it worked out well. They have listened to other audiences and made everything perfect just like gamers like it.

@DracoTarot I did not mean better artistically, I meant more on a personal level. For example, I definitely like The Hateful Eight better because it is Western and because I generally enjoy "closed-room" movies where the story happens in one isolated place. But style-wise both it and Pulp Fiction are impressive in their own ways.

Hmm, I am not sure if the audience asked specifically for a realistic horse movement, I read a rumor that Rockstar created a special team just to work on horses in that game. I mean, horses were certainly impressive, but I for one could live without them being overly realistic. Stil, a nice gesture and show of dedication and commitment 😅

@DoctorEldritch Ah ok I understand what you are saying. On a personal level, I find movies with storylines happening in one space a bit boring depending on who directed the movie and if there is a certain reason why the actors are isolated.

Maybe it's because over COVID-19 times most movies were like that and very low budget. Some of those movies were the worst I had ever seen. That's why I avoid them altogether. I have also seen brilliant ones. The script was written beautifully.

The main reason I fell in love with the game. So much detail and effort was put in and I have respect for the creators and the studio. The horses were one of the highlights and another was the bodies staying in the same place and not disappearing. The decay on the corpses is also anatomically correct.
