@DoctorEldritch Our house does not have vents. The buildings and houses are a bit different here than in other countries. Mostly doors and windows are the only source of air. Vents won't be an issue.

People may be interested in the idea of pouches filled with lavender to get rid of pesky mosquitoes if they want to go the natural route. Most seem to buy those fragrant coils you light up at night for the mozzies and do not seem to be bothered by the chemicals in those coils.

I'd rather skip the immersive experience now and focus on the old ways of gaming. 😂

@DracoTarot Ah, in that case, do you have nets on windows and doors?

Some of those coils can be natural repellants, but most are chemicals indeed. I only use those coils when camping outside sometimes, never inside. But, if they want to do that, there are natural incense sticks that could do that and be aromatherapeutic at the same time, better to use those, I think.

Not as old as modern. The full experience is something we may see in a decade, maybe 😅

@DoctorEldritch We do have mesh on our windows to keep out the insects and critters. The issue is sometimes the mosquitos are so small they are able to crawl through the mesh and hide behind the curtains.

Some people don't seem to care about those coils harming their lungs. They use them in a room with windows closed while sleeping

Insense is a better alternative I'd say demanding on the odour. I had incense that would attract more insects instead of replacing them.

Well ok! Old and modern then. 😂 I'm not keen on futuristic tech for now.

@DracoTarot Could you get a smaller mesh?

Yeah, but then again, many people do many things harmful to their health every day...

True, you need to choose the odour carefully. But generally,y I think citrus aromas repell well enough.

Depends on the tech. I would not mind visiting a theme park like West World, but without all the uprisings and massacres 😅

@DoctorEldritch I could install a smaller and less porous mesh. We have 29 windows to cover with the mesh and it's a bit expensive.

True, people including me do not look after our bodies and health properly.

I think Lemon works the best and also do not forget citronella incense.

A theme park is a whole different story. I also wouldn't mind. Yeah! I wouldn't want to be slaughtered after by some cult or insane individual. The best is to avoid the scenario. 😂

@DracoTarot Oh my. With so many windows, maybe a net over your gaming setup similar to the love over your bed is a more cost-efficient solution?

Hmm, maybe citronella plants would work even better than or well in combo with lavender. May not look as pretty though...

There is something about theme parks that makes people lower their instincts of self-preservation. I mean, you take a piece of land and fill it with things like horror houses, fast-moving wagons on rails full of sharp turns and clothoid loops, creepy oversized mascots often in a visage of some rodent or pest, fast-food joints serving the grub with an alarming count of sugar, all sprinkled with a bunch of over-excited kids, and somehow people think of all that as a good time for a family outing 😅

I'd rather play "Cult of the Lamb" 😉

@DoctorEldritch I'm already using a net over my bed and still the slip through somehow. It's extremely hot after the rain we had and at night, we suffer. If I do not let a fan blow directly on me while lying in bed sleeping, they come in swarms to suck me dry. The fan helps to blow them away.

Yeah, it's a lot of windows. Too much many to cover.

At this stage, I do not know what will work except the net and fan. It's like the cockroaches here. I can spray them with insect killer and nothing happens. It almost seems the cockroaches think the insect killer is deodorant and most of the time lift their legs so I can make them smell better. 😂

I totally agree with you. The thing is people are so gullible and through theme parks and attractions they manipulate people to spend money. Disney World is one of them and recently many atrocious things came to light about the park and how they operate. It's a business venture which uses entertainment to be a well-oiled pyramid scheme. Most of them are.

@DracoTarot Hmm...maybe you can try making your blood less tasty?

Probably best to cover the whole house with a dome when like the Simpsons did it 😉

Ah, well, at least we have the option to play something like RollerCoaster Tycoon or Parkitect and make our own parks the way we want. Some even do so in Minecraft:

@DoctorEldritch I'm going to start using Garlic health meds. It might work to change my blood's overall taste and whatnot. I'll be immune to vampires too. 😂

Nah, too much of an effort to cover the whole house. There are better alternatives like a flamethrower.

The digital versions are the best alternative I guess. 😂

@DracoTarot Even if it does not work to repel mosquitoes or vampires, it should improve your gut health 😉 But then, why not just eat more raw garlic?

Ah well, a flamethrower is a better alternative to many things 😅

@ZaidH and I were recently discussing the Horizon game series. There was an apocalypse in that game that wiped out almost all of humanity, but you may be interested in knowing that, per game lore, before all that happened, humans somehow managed to wipe out all mosquitoes (unintentional) and it caused some ecological collapse they had to fix. The apocalypse thing happened sometime afterwards unrelated. Wiping out the entire species may be overkill on a global ecology scale, but on a personal level, a world without mosquitoes does not sound too bad...

You can do anything you want in digital provided you have the time and know-how. Make all your dreams come true. 😉
