@DracoTarot That reminded me of that Russia faction intro in Tropico 6 😅

That may be true, but I'd say that again is typical for anything. I mean, since guns appeared, some people were using them for bad things (probably not the best example, though, I am not sure what a "good" use for a gun is), same with cars, fire and anything else. It is not so much an issue of misusing technology than a human nature, I'd say.

It is good to know that you're enjoying it. Diablo-like games are not really my type of game, too dynamic for me, but I understand the appeal. Glad Lenovo Thinkvison is working out for you 😊

The mechanics are mostly the same as in Diablo and by now you know I am a huge Diablo fan.

On that note, do you play actual Diablo these days? Season 7 was launched yesterday:

    @DoctorEldritch It does.

It seems everything can and will be used as a weapon these days to loot, destroy and plunder. 😂
Humans can be an awful species sometimes.

The new monitor gives me a different experience and makes the games much more pleasurable. Diablo and similar games will always appeal to me. I think it's because I understand the mechanics very well.

@DoctorEldritch I haven't played Diablo in a while. They are constantly updating Diablo. There are a lot of add-ons and new chapters coming into the mix.

I want to wait until most are released then update and play.

@DracoTarot That reminded me of that bit from Get Smart comedy:

It's been a while since I used a monitor, actually a long time, about 10 years now. Is the experience considerably different with it, how so?

Ah, that is true, I am similar when it comes to DLCs. Though with Diablo, not sure how long it would take. I still can't play Sims 4 as they keep adding bells and whistles to it...

@DoctorEldritch I loved Get Smart. It would be great if they could make a new series, but yeah, that won't happen.

For me, it's the other way around. It has been years since I used a laptop, and the experience is considerably different. A monitor is so much better for what I do daily and that's why I prefer to have two.

You can run a split screen on a laptop but when it comes to text things become a bit hard.

I am going to wait and see what happens with Diablo. If there are not many DLCs added in the next two months then I will download and play a bit and see what was added.

@DracoTarot Maybe not new, but you can always rewatch the original series from the 60s. I think it is better than a modern remake with Carell anyway.

I am mostly using a laptop because it is convenient to travel with, I tend to do it reasonably often, and a proper PC is not as convenient for that. I've been told to get a monitor repeatedly, and @GoLLuM13 very kindly advised me one a year ago, but I was always on the move, so no such luck yet...

I thought that that season system meant they were cooking something new in regular intervals for Diablo?

@DoctorEldritch I probably will watch the original series sometime time if have not else to watch.

I do not travel much these days and mostly at home. A proper PC is a bit of a hassle to try along with you and I would also rather use a laptop on trips. Maybe you can have a bit of both. A nice gaming PC at home and your laptop for business.

You can still get a monitor and leave it behind and use it again when you return home if you prefer a laptop.

I'm not sure if they will. That's why I want to see what's going on with the season system.

@DracoTarot I liked it, but I found that they reuse the same joke slightly altered in every episode. Not a bad thing in moderation, but a bit too much if used so often, I thought. But maybe it was how they did it back in the 60s.

I visit my parents for Christmas and stay with them for a long period of time. Not proper travel, but it still helps to have a laptop for this.

This is the current idea, the only issue there is that I am also moving flats relatively often (like once a year), so it will mean one more piece of hardware to pack. But I may get one still.

To be honest, that whole season system is somewhat confusing for me at a glance, and I did not take the effort to look into it because I do not play Diablo. Will the seventh season be the last one then?

@DoctorEldritch I get bored easily with series and movies with repetitive dialogue and actions. If Get Smart is like that, I will skip it altogether.

Over the holiday season, I would also prefer to have a laptop or desktop with me when visiting family. I know it's supposed to be family time but having some extra entertainment won't hurt.

It's going to be an issue if you move flats often. Then a bulky screen won't work for you. You can always buy one of those new monitors that are foldable. Fold it up pack it in your suitcase and away you go. 😂

I do not know what they want to do. The developers seem so indecisive. The seventh season is supposed to be the last but now they're in discussion for another.

That's why I'm waiting on the sidelines before I play any further.

@DracoTarot Well, they play with the concept in new ways often enough, but the core joke remains the same. Here is what I mean:

The premise is the same, but the execution differs. Not sure if that is good enough for you or not.

In my case, it is more about keeping in touch, but entertainment is up there too. Though I get plenty entertained without gadgets, too, we go on hikes and bike rides and such, and during winter we can sometimes Nordic ski (not this year, though).

I am not sure if foldable can compete with bulky ones quality-wise yet. It is not so much an issue of having to pack and move it rather that I leave it in storage for somewhat long. I hear it's best not to do that with complex electronics.

Ah, I see. I am a bit out of the loop as far as Diablo is concerned. We'll see what happens. It could pay off for them to actually have 9 seasons, like 9 circles of hell from Divine Comedy, that'd be symbolic. Would work better if they planned it that way from the start, though.
