Found myself downloading Total War: EMPIRE again. A game find myself going back to playing probably once a year. Every time I think I must be done with it...

What games do you revisit year after year?

@miskkie Ah, I think you mentioned Total War: EMPIRE when we were talking about games that teach history.

Not sure about every year, I mean, not for that specific period. I sometimes replay The Curse of Monkey Island for nostalgia, but that's about maybe every 7 years or so. Then not on a yearly basis, but I tend to come back to long turn-based or deck-building games every 2-3 years, like Darkest Dungeon or Griftlands, because replayability there is more varied.

But I don't think I have something I come back to as frequently as every year, I mean, with so many new games coming out, where to get the time to play the old ones again that often?

I usually go back to one of the original Spyro games. Most years, I play through at least one of them. They’re great games, they are easy to get going on any hardware anywhere, and they hold a lot of nostalgia for me.

TFT has become a solid for me, casual enough that i can just play a few without caring but with enough depth if i want to go deeper for a while
