A bit of lighthearted news to brighten up your Monday: there is a irl Disco Elysium bar!

The RPG game came out five years ago and quickly became a cult and, curiously, a hit in China. So much so that a gamer bar owner in the city of Hangzhou designed the menu of his bar as a reference to the game, both in the names of the drinks and quotes from the game.

In this bar, you can try the famous Sunset Tequila, treat yourself (or your partner 😉) to the "Partner" cocktail (this one's for Kim) or have some apricot-flavoured craft beer colourfully named "Drunk-call to Your Ex-wife". The menu also has a mysterious "The Special Borsht", but I could not translate what's in there. 😉



But wait, there's more! As the bar is operated "by RPG fans for RPG fans", in a true RPG fashion, it features a special offer, A visitor can roll the dice, and if more than a seven comes up, the next serving of Tequila Sunset will cost you only a single yuan!



Sadly, with all that's been going on with ZA/UM and lead Disco Elysium developers in particular, we do not know if something as great as Disco Elysium will see the light of day again. But it is good to see that truly great games continue to inspire people for many years to come, especially when in such creative and unusual ways. Bit of a shame that it's all the way in China 😅

This is great! Wonder if the deco of the bar matches the aesthetic of the game?
And only more than a 7? Of course I´d roll the dice 😏

PS, Would love to see a bar like the Overlook in Citizen Sleeper 😍

@CandelaSynth Maybe to a point, there is only so much you can do when you are a fan, and making big changes (like the iconic tiled floor) means money and construction. My guess is he did what he could.

Roll the dice but remember, you will only win it in 41% of rolls.

Not sure if Citizen Sleeper has images with detailed aesthetics, we see it from the outside only, I think?

No way, a Disco Elysium bar? That’s incredible. I’d love to see how they’ve captured the vibe—if it’s anything like the Whirling-In-Rags, it must be such a cool, moody spot. I haven’t been to China, but if I ever go, this is going on my list for sure. If anyone’s been, I’d love to hear what it’s like!
