@ZaidH There are some fun moments here and there, that's true. Mordin Solus's "scientist salarian" take on The Pirates of Penzance was a very nice touch, I thought:

It is nice when humour is made work with an easter egg and reference to classics when possible.

Ah, I see, best of luck! When will they announce the winners?

Ah, no, I finished the Daevabad trilogy, I enjoyed it. But I will not start the next book of its author until she finishes all three of them, so far she only has one from the planned new trilogy about pirates in the Indian Ocean.

Right now I am in the middle of that I, Inquisitor series I mentioned to you before, from the Polish author Jacek Piekara. It has a Witcher vibe, though a tad more mature and grim and with religious undertones.

@DoctorEldritch Ah, that's the performance that cemented Mordin's place in my main squad alongside Garrus 😂 Put Mordin and Grunt in a room, and you wouldn't need any other entertainment.

Thank you! They’ll probably announce the winners by the end of November. Apart from a digital developer badge, I’m not expecting to win anything, considering the website was made in just 5 days and is pretty light on features 😆

Dang, the author really is taking readers on a ride through the mystical cultures of the world. Trilogies often start strong but fizzle out by the end. Did you feel the same about the Daevabad trilogy, or did it exceed expectations in this regard? I’ll have to ask you about your impressions of I, Inquisitor once you’re done with it 😄

@ZaidH Ah, sorry, could you remind me what funny things Garrus did, I can't recall. All I remember is that he was always calibrating something 😅

Well, if nothing else, you will have a badge to show for it. Is it good or useful to have one, like for a resume?

Chakraborty was thorough in her research when writing Daevabad, and it shows. I'd say it did not fizzle; the stakes were always raised higher. I can recommend it. About I, Inquisitor, it is a bit too early to tell. So far, it is a collection of shorter stories like the first Witcher books, and the main plotline has not started yet.

@DoctorEldritch Many apologies for the late reply! I've been so busy with moving house, and honestly, I could've used someone like Garrus to help out 😅 He may not be as fun as Solus, but his loyalty is unmatched!

Not really lols. That said, with companies heavily investing in AI, this badge could be a conversation starter about my experience with the field.

I love authors who really do their research 👏 I think I, Inquisitor would benefit from being adapted into a graphic novel since it has such contained stories 🤔

@ZaidH no worries, congratulations on the new house. How do you like it?

Garrus may be loyal, but Solus is more inspiring. Here is a bit of trivia: some fans came together and actually made a whole homage to The Pirates of Penzance's "Major General" with orchestra and lyrics and everything:

When Garrus has that, then we'll talk 😉

Oh well, there is that at least. And you could pair it up nicely with a T-shirt that would have "I was working for in AI before it was cool" written on it.

Maybe if it gets more popular. Witcher was not known outside Poland all that much before the games. I, Inquisitor got the game too, but it is not that good, has Mixed on Steam, so it did not really take off. Maybe it it manages to gain more momentum then there would be a few graphic novels as well.

@DoctorEldritch Thank you thank you 😄 It’s a bit of a downgrade from my last apartment, but honestly with real estate prices being all over the place, I lucked out with this one. No joke, my previous rent jumped by over 40% 😆

Wow, that was beautiful! Okay, Garrus is officially demoted from the main squad. Imagine if the next Mass Effect gives us a Krogan with Mordin-like traits—it’d only be fair for Mordin’s torch to be passed to a Krogan.

Oh dang, I’ll check out the I, Inquisitor game trailer.

@ZaidH To be honest, I feel you, I myself struggle with finding a good place, and my last one had quite a rise too. It does not help either that I can't seem to find a place that I would enjoy living in long-term, I am always dissatisfied with something. So I move around about every year...

It could have been possible if Mordin was still around, but as things are, I am not sure. Would be interesting to see a Krogan scientist, I mean, they do have those, we just did not get to see them all that much. Perhaps inspired by Mordin's actions, some of them would try to imitate his manner in an attempt to honour him, I can see a faction like that. We'll see.

What we do know for sure is that Michael Gamble advised gamers to play ME2 Shadow Broker DLC, so it is very likely that ME4 (or 5) will feature Liara in that capacity.

    Here you go:

@DoctorEldritch Oof, moving houses every year sounds extremely exhausting. With prices increasing for literally everything, I suspect I'll probably have to do the same next year 😅 Are you allowed to renovate the interiors of the accommodations you've come across?

Perhaps inspired by Mordin's actions, some of them would try to imitate his manner in an attempt to honour him, I can see a faction like that.

That's precisely what I'm expecting in the next game 😁 I think Liara is a lock for it. Also, some sharp-eyed folks have hypothesized that one of the individuals in the Mass Effect teaser poster is Wrex/Grunt. The body in that same poster might belong to the Citadel's greatest marketing genius 👀

The trailer was looking pretty generic—until that Eldritch-looking being appeared at the end 😨 Now it has my attention.

@ZaidH Not really, but I do not mind, save for a couple of plants I do not carry decorations around anyway. In truth, all my belongings can fit in a van.

Moving around is indeed a hassle, and it is challenging to find something good, but I get to see many places, it's a small consolation.

The poster looks promising, but they seem to keep details under wraps, we do not know if Shepard will make even a cameo comeback or not. My guess is that Wrex/Grunt is intentional: I mean, Liara can live for a thousand years, and the fact that she is there does not narrow it down chronologically. It may be shortly after the events of the ME 3 finale, or it could take place a hundred or two hundred years after. And krogans live even longer than asari and can live for over a thousand, so that does not narrow it down either...

To be fair, the game only got mixed score on Steam, I mean, it is there, but there are better games you can play...

@DoctorEldritch For you it’s plants, for me it’s my cats. They would kill me in my sleep if I threw away even one of their toys 😫 Do you move from city to city, or just look for houses in particular regions?

Speaking of time periods, do you know when ME: Andromeda takes place? Is it set in the near or the far future? I haven’t played Andromeda, so I’m completely in the dark about what to expect next.

Haha, it seems like the book is the definitive way to experience I, Inquisitor 😅
