Easter is upon us! And one of its many traditions is to go on an egg hunt. So needless to say that we, in the festive spirit, have arranged a little egg hunt of our very own in our Minecraft server. With rabbits and dragons!

But one of the good things about games and being a gamer is that you do not need to wait for Easter to go Easter Egg hunting. Indeed, games offer plenty of interesting and amusing Easter Eggs all year round!

And what better time to recall the most memorable of those than Easter? Here are a few examples that come to mind...

To start with, as you know, we love Minecraft and have our own village there. But we're not the only ones! Borderlands 2 game developers made a homage to Minecraft by adding an easter egg Creeper enemies in one of the quests. So maybe Creepers are actually native to Pandora ;)

Then there is, of course, the treasure trove of easter eggs, the Fallout series. That one has numerous amusing references to the pop culture, but my favourite would probably be the famous TARDIS from the Doctor Who series that you can see in the original game:

And the later instalments of the game continued filling Wasteland with whimsical encounters. One can remember, for example, a famous whip-carrying archaeologist adventurer:

I guess the fridge does not protect from a nuclear blast that well in the Fallout universe. Should have used Pulowski Preservation shelter, Dr. Jones! Though not sure if it is a proper easter egg, as for a chance to see it you'd need to choose the "Wild Wasteland" trait on character creation.

And we must not forget the Witcher games, those gave us plenty of interesting easter eggs. The most memorable one is, perhaps, the unlucky Altair:

Maybe straw and hay are not as soft in the Witcher universe. Still, goes to show that Leto is the only Assassin of Kings there;)

And the third part got its share of easter eggs too. As a bit of a tease for their next release, Ciri, with her world-travelling powers, recalls a particular setting:

Sounds familiar? Maybe brings to mind something about punks? And cybers?

And, of course, the Witcher easter eggs report would be incomplete without mentioning their amusing homage to a famous mighty pirate, which, incidentally, we just recently mentioned in a different thread. But Witcher was not the only game to have him as easter egg. For example, doesn't the statues from Star Wars Force Unleashed 2 remind you of someone?

And for those of you who also like him, a new game may be another portion of good news!

Of course, some games make a point of not having any easter eggs. For example, GTA San Andreas clearly proclaims that there are no easter eggs to be found:

But those are the examples that we could remember, yet there are a lot more out there, bunches and bunches ;)

So what about you? Ever found a good game easter egg?

@LilySensei (Paty), indeed, the statue is him, the mighty pirate. Who knows, maybe Monkey Island Caribbean is actually in the galaxy far, far away.
@LockOut, the Rockstar was being ironic in their manner: the message that there are no easter eggs is an easter egg in itself!
