Okay, hear me out first. Yaser here, my nick is OrC@DiaN, the first ever game that I played was CS1.6 and half life. I have played almost every game there is. I enjoy cinematic game story campaigns more than multiplayer (for a short while atleast). I do play CS2, FIFA, RDR2 and COD (DMZ only) almost regularly (as much as I can because of my work).

In the hustle and bustle of modern life, everyone seems to be stuck in a loop of endless scrolling on the phone, personal life, and while gaming, it’s always super fast multiplayer matches back to back that games usually offer which are full of chaos and destruction and mindless decisions, for example, “I lost that one, I’ll just play one more, need that win” leaving you without contentment even if you do win.

However, there are some games that allow you to calm down. They allow you to walk. To enjoy the landscape and have the satisfaction of taking a breather while also giving you an adrenaline rush from time to time (in particular situations) and not all the time.

For me, it’s driving in GTA V with the radio on till something happens. It’s riding my horse around in Red Dead Redemption 2 finding new places to visit and new people to meet. It’s DMZ in Call of Duty, that allows you to stalk and hunt other squads, move around different landscapes, strategize or go all-in guns blazing. It’s also story-rich games like Metro, Far Cry, Halo, Crysis, Battlefield, and ofcourse the older COD games that had better story campaigns.

What is it for you? Which game brings you that momentary calm? That moment of peace? Which game allows you to escape reality without compromising on your sanity?
