I've received my new gaming mouse!

    https://www.logitechg.com/fr-ca/prod...10-007143.html

I'll get straight to the point: after the hype of unpacking this STARWARS limited edition, I'm moderately satisfied, and I'll tell you why.

To put this in context, I have a classic G502 Hero. It has to be said: it's excellent. Good grip, responsive, good glide, reliable and robust, with very good software (Logitech Video Game Assistant) that also manages my keyboard and headset. 99% satisfaction.

But I've been thinking for a while that I'd like to go wireless.

So I was very happy to receive this new G502, wireless and theoretically improved since they're selling it for twice the price! 169 euro

After a few days of testing :

It may look like the previous model, but I find that it doesn't sit quite as well in the hand. It slips a little. Not much, but it's not as good. The plastic grips are a little different.

The aiming button, on the other hand, is closer to the thumb.

The wireless works perfectly and the mouse is as precise as ever. But this is no better.

And the design of this MILLENIUM FALCON version: Magnificent!!!

But where I'm a bit sad is that the new Logitech products have new software and are not compatible with the old one. This means that my G510 keyboard can no longer change my mouse profiles. And I'm forced to use two different programs.

To conclude: if you already have a wireless G502, version X won't add anything. The 502X is excellent, but no better.

@ramax The mouse looks cool. Reminds me of @Saka special keyboard. And all those buttons! Here I am using the Microsoft 900 wireless keyboard+mouse combo, and my mouse only has 3 buttons, the common ones 😅

What are all those buttons for?

@DoctorEldritch Buttons are vital, I wouldn't have it any other way. (Like my keyboard, which has 18 MACRO buttons and three "live" macro recording buttons, as well as an LCD screen).

The two buttons above the mouse :

    - in red and unlocks the scroll wheel, which is now free for greater precision. (for drawing, video editing ... )
    - in gray are the modes: you can configure all the buttons and set shortcuts and macros according to the game or software. Several modes for each game. And as many different functions and RGB colors. (That's the only time the RGB is useful, telling me what mode I'm in... it also displays it on the keyboard's LCD screen).

For example, in Conan Exiles I set myself up in "construction" mode, where the thumb buttons change the action bar in game, to display walls, decorations, etc., and I change mode to go into combat, where the thumb buttons activate the shield and healing potions.

The same goes for work, where I configure modes for video editing. An editing mode with shortcuts for cutting or trimming the TIMELINE, ...

    Left buttons:

    - The thumb buttons are programmable as I said above, with macro, windows function or simply a key on the keyboard. But the third button, the one furthest forward, changes the resolution of the mouse sensor. It becomes hyper-precise when this button is pressed. It's ideal for sniping or precise drawing.

    - The buttons to the left of the left click are also programmable, but are often used to change mouse resolution.

@ramax Everything is so configurable. I never use shortcuts because when I change devices, they can be different and buttons are in different places or the keyboard is different size and you have to retrain and I do not have patience for that. One of the reasons why it's taking me so long to move to a controller in the games where it is better to use it (like Hollow Knight).

But also, I do not use most of the functions you do, with switching game modes or editing. And I prefer to game leisurely where fast reaction time is not needed, maybe that's one of the reasons as well...
