    Hello Legion Gamers!

Our Crystal Ball Gaming Competition has started and we're excited to see your different predictions about what games of the future may be like!

And while that is going on, here is a little game for inspiration called Dreamio: AI-Powered Adventures:

The unusual thing about this game is that it uses AI to generate (and voice!) stories, and because of this it is essentially endless and can be played forever. The AI generates a story and images, and the game plays as a mix of visual novel and D&D session with AI Narrator acting as your Dungeon Master.

Not sure if you can play with your friends yet, but even if not, I don't think that it'll be long before someone makes a game like this with a co-op feature and other bells and whistles.

But not all game is created by one AI, it is a "collaboration": text is by GPT-3.5 Turbo, visual images by Stable Diffusion XL, and one of the voicing models is from Google. Gamers can also choose how they want to interact with the game: either select options that the Narrator gives you, or type in your own (hello Colossal Cave Adventure!), or even say what you want to do into a microphone.

So AI is creeping into the game dev world. It may be good or bad (what do you think?), but this game is already an example and a taste of what it can do. And maybe it will give you some ideas for the competition, too! 😉

1:37 in. Top right picture is an explosion over a major city. What is it was Global and you now had to life and survivor in a world with no Government order.

Sounds like a good new dooms day game.

@ChristianRasmussen I think those are scenarios you can choose to play in. That one is aptly named Nuclear Holocaust, so yeah, kind of. But I also see Medieval and Alien Invasion and Cyberpunk, and something featuring a cat below that, among others. So you get to pick whichever plot you want, I guess.

@DoctorEldritch With how much GPT 3.5 turbo has been treating me lately I reckon its quite brave to choose to stick with it to develop a game rather than choosing 4.0 Turbo or just developing their own AI software. I believe there's only one way to find out hahaha, added to the list of possible next buys ;)
