    Hello Legion Gamers!

News sometimes works in mysterious ways. Just a couple of weeks ago, @halonfire recommended I try the YUZU emulator to play Metroid Dread. But while I was looking into it and how it would work, Nintendo went and sued Tropic Haze who made this emulator and ensured that it gets taken down.

The reason for this legal action was that Nintendo claimed that gamers use Yuzu to illegally access exclusive content, and as an example, they pointed to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, over one million copies of which were downloaded before the official release.

Now we know that Tropic Haze expressed regret that their code was used for piracy, and settled for compensating Nintendo an amount of $2,400,000.00, as well as removing the code from public access.

But the saga of Switch emulators does not end there! The code was in public access, and after Yuzu went away, it was replaced by Nuzu and Suyu (siblings? 🤔) And there is another older emulator called Ryujinx out there, too. Just remember to use them all legally 😉

    Does anyone use them?

Well Yuzu (Tropic Haze LLC) is/was a US company while Ryujinx creator is Brazilian, i don't think its going to be easy to shut them down.

The Switch 1 (2017) cycle is over, all the big games were released. Nintendo is set to release the Switch 2 in 2025. Hopefully a new 2D Metroid game!
