    Hello Legion Gamers!

Yesterday the trailer for the upcoming Borderlands movie was finally released! Check it out!

I like the games well enough so I was keeping an eye on it, though I am a tad worried about the cast. Lilith and Roland aside as in the games they were more or less sane. Well, for the most part, and as much as one can be in that whacky world. But Patricia, Tiny Tina and Krieg are, well, insane, really.

So far I could not really see that, especially in Tiny Tina, I got the impression that her live-action counterpart is not nearly as unhinged as the game version based on the trailer, but I guess we'll see. Patricia...well, only has one line in the trailer, so it's hard to judge based just on that. Patricia in the game had her own brand of insanity and the first game actually did a good job of chronicling her descent into it with ECHO logs:

Still, Jamie Lee Curtis is no stranger to characters that are not all there, remember Freaky Friday? Maybe she will nail that character.

As for Krieg, he does not actually say a single line in the trailer, while in the game his attempts at communication are, well, colourful:

I wonder how he speaks in the movie and if he has that "voice in the head" feature. And wether he will meet one and only love Maya in the film.

So lots of things to look forward to, it can be hit or miss, but will be interesting to check which one it will be. And if nothing else, having Jack Black voice someone is always a treat!

And to wrap it up, a reminder: the movie will be out on the 9th of August. Will you watch it?

A small update: Randy Pitchford, the head of Gearbox, revealed that this movie is going to be the start of a cinematic universe that will exist parallel and independently of the games. But I guess those ambitious plans now hinge on how successful the movie will turn out to be. Good for making bets, I guess 😉
