    Hello Legion Gamers!

Epic Games Store offers games for free every week. This week, the free games are...

    Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!

Welcome to the club! Write poems for your crush and experience the terror of school romance in this critically-acclaimed psychological horror story.

Can't say much about this one. I hear it is one of the best examples of psychological horror in the gaming industry masquerading as a dating sim while also having many unusual gameplay tricks and puzzles that go far beyond just that. This in itself is a combination worthy of looking into if you like either of those. Though me, I am one of those "easily disturbed children", so I stayed away, but for those who like psychological horrors, this may be a way to go. Plus, after all, it come out during Valentine's Week, which is pretty ironic symbolic.

But EGS understands that games of this calibre that need to put "not for easily disturbed children" in them may not be free for everyone, so the second game of this week is...

    Lost Castle

Lost Castle is an action RPG beat'em up with roguelike elements and randomized dungeons for up to four players online and local!

I played this game long ago, it is small but reasonably decent for its time. There have been better and deeper examples since then, like Rogue Legacy or Dead Cells, but if you like games like this, this game can be a pleasant enough way to spend a couple of evenings.

    See anything you'd like?

@DoctorEldritch What is the classification of an "easily disturbed child" by EGS?

@Saka I think it is the game itself that has this warning, it is not enforced by EGS. It may be a part of a PR campaign, though, I suspect, in the same way that this would appeal to their target audience. I have not played it, but from what I gathered, the game is a very psychological horror story indeed and with unusual gameplay mechanics, so it really can be quite scary and "fourth wall breaking". So I guess this warning is fair.

@DoctorEldritch Apparently my spouse has the game and he kinda spoilered it to me. The weird part is apparently about the story continuing with the characters missing.

@Saka As I understood, that's part of it, but just the tip of the iceberg, it goes much deeper than that, but to get there you need to think outside the box about how you interact with the game.
