    The famous versus fighting game, Tekken 8 which should be release on PS5, Xbox Series and PC on January 26th, 2024, which is in just over a month's time, invites us for a preview on a demo, as seen on the official Tekken tweet.

    The demo is already available on PS5 and will be available on December 21st on PC (Steam) and Xbox Series. In this demo, we should have access to the first chapter of the story mode "The Dark Awakens" and to the local versus mode.

    @GoLLuM13 Fighting games are not really my cup of tea, but I had a look and I think I'd enjoy watching it as cinematic, sort of like you could do with Overwatch at one point. It looks nice, I think. But is there a story continuity, do you need to know what happened in Tekken 7 and before that to know who is who, or is it a new story every time?

    @DoctorEldritch there's a continuity or at least a time-line the events in Tekken 8 take place few months after the end of Tekken 7, but you can easily understand who is who and what's happening with a small and quick reading, I don't know if there will be like in TV Shows "Previously on Tekken" 😁

    @GoLLuM13 I saw videos like "The Lore of Trekken" on YouTube, but some of those are over 1.5 hours long. So when you say "small and quick reading", you mean how small exactly? 😅

    @DoctorEldritch when I say small and quick reading it's to catch up quickly, obviously to know everything about the lore it will take more time 😊

    @GoLLuM13 If that's the case, maybe watching the motion picture will work? It is from 1997 though, so outdated, but as an entry point it could give the idea of who is who. Unless there's been a reboot since then.

    @DoctorEldritch never saw it, but 1997 we're at best between Tekken 1 and Tekken 3

    @Saka Indeed, and the game wasn't ugly at all when I tried it

    @GoLLuM13 That's great!

    It seems like a lot of the requirements are somewhat arbitrary nowadays. You get games that ask really high specs and look like PS3 games at best. For example the infamous game named after you... 😉
