@GoLLuM13 That's a weird game to be a keyboard killer. 😅 Hope your new shift arrives soon enough.
@DoctorEldritch I don't know if I linked you the video on this topic when we last discussed. There are many people who loved the franchise and feel betrayed by the author. Sadly, it can be difficult to separate the author from it, especially if she still keeps adding stuff to the universe (the Fantastic Beasts movies, stuff on Pottermore etc.). So it's not exactly the case that she wrote the books 15 years ago and didn't touch the universe since.

A potential solution to separate JKR from the Wizarding World would be if Warner Bros bought it out. Currently they have 50% of the shares if I recall correctly. They could afford that and it could be possibly a win for the franchise, as they could hire some talent for the future writing. It wasn't the controversies that made the second and third Fantastic Beast films have weak reception. The plot was just really not great. I liked the first movie though. They should have stopped at that one to be fair.

@DoctorEldritch @Saka I didn't break it, it broke by itself 😂 the keycaps are so fragile, that even the team of Hardware Canucks managed to break one during a review 😅 for me, it lasted like 3 years or so

@Saka I didn't like some of JKR's recent statements on current events in certain countries, so I don't like the positions she takes, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the game, the films and their music, and people should do the same. Will she have her cut ? Absolutely, in any case, but so will talented and probably good people who worked in all those projects, and those people should be rewarded for the excellent job they do. At least that's how I see it.

@GoLLuM13 It's up to each person to decide whether or not they would continue buying items from the franchise. Most of the people will respect your choice, even if they personally did differently. Only diehard zealots will actually abuse others over that and their unacceptable behaviour isn't helping anyone's cause.

In the videos I have watched, the trans people who loved Hogwarts - they aren't burning the books or destroying the film discs. Not most of them at least. Some even bought and played the game.

That being said, despite the lack of nominations for Game Awards, the game had remarkable sales. So the developers' efforts did pay off. Sucks that there is no special distinction, but on the other hand, Baldur's Gate 3 was a game many people were waiting for and without the controversies.

Unless you count overly horny NPCs as a controversy. Which was patched out quickly. 😂

@Saka even I who aren't a fan of BG franchise heard about the bear thing 😂

And yes it broke my heart to see people buying collector editions of Hogwarts just to destroy them 🥲 I would have loved to have this piece in my collection if I could afford it 🥲

@GoLLuM13 Yesterday I read an article regarding the bear. According to the data revealed by the studio, one third of the players who decided to get intimate with the bear, did so with him staying in bear form.

I have seen (a mostly SFW) clip where a squirrel was witnessing the scene and had an interesting, shocked expression. 😂

@GoLLuM13 People have different goals in the games. Some of them apparently decide to get intimate with anything that breathes.

@GoLLuM13 Up to the bear to decide what's bearable! 😆

@GoLLuM13 and @Saka you guys are hilarious.

Was that patched out or modded out? I was surprised when I was looking into mods for Baldur's Gate 3 about how many of them are either to reduce or increase the...shall we say, sexiness of the game. I guess it allows for some flexibility: you can adjust the level of that content to the one you are comfortable with.

Personally, I do not recall ever playing any game and thinking "This is too sexualised" or "This is not sexualised enough". But to each his/her own, and I will say that, with Dragon's Age Inqiuisition, for example, I used a mod that allowed me to romanticise all characters at once. Not because I thought there was not enough romance, but because I wanted to see all the content without having to replay the game multiple times. But that's about it.

Then again, I only heard about the bear thing, and have not seen or played it yet, so I am a bit out of the loop as to how it was before and after. I really need to play this game and see for myself...
