@GoLLuM13 I'd say I am more into Action-RPG format these days as well. Not that I distinctly dislike pixels or turn-based gameplay, it is just a matter of preference. I like some games styled as pixels, there are many good ones these days, Dave the Diver comes to mind, and I generally like tactical strategies, but more 3-D isometric ones like XCOM, not Japanese 2-D fighting ones. I did very much enjoy Darkest Dungeon, though, but that is not really the same.

So I guess FF 15 it is, thank you. And a separate thank you for the insight about FF7 Remake, I did not know it was like that, as in, missing parts of the original. That bumped it down my list. Why would they make it like that?

To be honest, from that description, it does seem that Genshin would be too stressful for me, I may get rather concerned with all those temporary deals and offers. I can't just chill in those conditions, I am afraid. So it was helpful in the sense that "so, this game is like that, huh? Got it, no thank you."

I am honestly not that affected by corpses or blood or anything. I do have a thing for snakes, but that's phobic (which is kind of a bummer, but Indiana Jones also had that, so that's cool, at least. I guess?). And I could look into lore online, but that's not the same. With RE, I think it best to just leave it be for now.

Though that being said, I want to try the remake of Dead Space just to see how I feel, as it's been praised. If I feel like it after that, I may try more scary games.

...although, the way @j7schultz spoke about Dead Space in October made me afraid to try it, too... and when I think about it, if just that is enough to scare me, maybe best not to try at all. 😅

The thing about FF7 is that the story is super long, back in the days it used to have like 7 CDs on PS1 😂
So they decided to cut the story into episodes. It's like playing God of War 1 and waiting for God of War 2 and 3 they're all part of a same story but when you play the first one you have a beginning and an end even if the end of the 1st game takes you directly to the beginning of the 2nd game. It's almost the same with FF7 Remake, it's a complete game, just not all the story we knew on PS1 (and also they changed a lot in the story anyway, it's a real Remake) but I understand you, and I'm waiting Rebirth (hoping it's all what's missing, and they won't talk about a 3rd one 😂)

Well yeah Genshing, is a game where you shouldn't care too much about not having a character day one of the release or availability or else you'll find yourself spending a ton of cash on the game 😂 and becaue I really don't care about characters, I just play solo for the story and in co-op to be with a person I care about and I use the photo mode to take pictures of some beautiful places in the game 😊 like these 2 examples

There is a big snake on RE1 😂 and there are so many spiders on so many of them that made me lose it 😂 especially on the 3rd iirc with a "nest" and the queen that was gigantic 😅 I remember I was like 13, I was with 2 friends, I just gave the controller to one of them and got out of the room 😂 so trust me, I understand what a phobia is, even if now I can handle this segment of the game 😜 but to summarize Resident Evil, it's more the scary part that is about phobias, violence and gore, having a creature chasing you and having that stress and fear that it catches you and kill you, the stress of not having enough ammo ... etc sometimes a "jump scare" where a monster comes from nowhere and this is for Resident Evil 0 to 3 and Code Veronica. On the opposite a game like RE 7 or 8 and I can add the Slient Hill series, it's a 100% psychological fear, the ambiance, the sounds, the music, the creatures, it's so heavy on you that you'll feel the weight of the world on your shoulders 😂 anyway about Resident Evil the best advice I can give you is to try at least te demo, if you can manage doing the demo you can give a try to the game, if not, you'll know it's not for you 😁

And from the feedback I had, Dead Space is a wonderful but scary game 😂

@GoLLuM13 That's one of the reasons I have not played The Last of Us yet, I am waiting for Part 2. Makes sense, I guess, to split the game like that, financially, at least, to do it like this. And considering how big it is, I am not too upset about it, I'd rather have 2 well-done smaller games than one big rushed one, we all saw what happens to rushed games...

What I am more concerned about, though, on a personal level, is that I did not know this was the case. So now I wonder if it is that Square Enix downplayed that bit and did not make it very clear, or if I am losing my grip on details like that. Not that I looked into it too much yet, but still... Ah, well.

About Geishin, it makes sense, and your screenshots do look beautiful. It's just the main reason why I always wait for all DLCs before playing is that, when I play a game, in terms of content, I want it to have

That's the completionist in me. If I need to keep paying to keep getting stuff in a never-ending circle, then I'd rather not. I will never pay for something like that, but I will get annoyed about the whole thing, which is sort of the opposite reaction of what I am looking for in a gaming experience. But that's me. And there are beautiful games that do not resort to microtransactions, too.

Convincing, I'll put the RE demo on my list, but realistically speaking, it will be a couple of years at least before I get to it, as it may be on the list but in Tier-3 priority (yes, even my lists have lists). I may get to try Dead Space before that, indeed, your description of it pretty much covers it. and it just might be wonderful enough to try and soldier through the scary.

I don't think Square Enix downplayed it with FF7 Remake, they were pretty clear about it from the beginning that it wasn't the whole story and will be in chapters, the only blurry thing was the number of chapters, they didn't know and still haven't said if it will be 2 (Remake + Rebirth) or if there will be more to come.

I'm a completionist too, but I'm trying to slow down on some aspects of it. Like I can't have all the games with all DLCs of the world, or I'll just eat rocks and I don't even know if I will be able to afford rocks anyway 😂
So I try to shrink all that and tell myself for example instead of having all the objects and all the collection of a serie I'll just stick to the games of this serie on a machine let's say PS4 and/or PC and if there is DLCs well I'll just get Story DLCs nothing cosmetic (unless I like the skin obviously 😜)

@GoLLuM13 I guess I was just out of the loop there with FF. But it does mean that I will need to wait for FFVII for a while longer until it is all out (or play the original, but I'd rather wait for the polished remaster).

That's the reason why I wait so long and take so long with my decisions about games: if I am going to spend my precious money, then I go for those older Ultimate editions that have all packed in and are so old that they come with a discount. So I am not well versed in how good the recent releases are, but on the plus side, I get all the content I want for the price I can handle, so what if it means I am years behind... I guess when it comes to the famous "choose 2 out of cheap, fast and good", I go for cheap and good.

This is why when I saw the Assassin's Creed giveaway for free post from @AmrAli1 (thank you!), even though I played that game already, I was curious to check what edition it was. Standard. Of course. 😒 Come on, Ubisoft, it's been 10 years, give us some Gold! Don't you make enough money from your in-game ads, as @ChristoffV mentioned? Oh well, that's my rant for today 😅

I guess it may depend on where you end up. If you are fine with village food, you can actually have a decent meal with a stone soup. But if you are fancy and like Asian cuisine, then you're out of luck: those Japanese shikoku stones cost a fortune.

@DoctorEldritch Ubisoft was (is ?) the worst when it comes to DLCs and different editions, you want an example and not the worst ? Assassin's Creed Syndicate, the Gold Edition is the game + season pass, but the season pass doesn't include the DLC "The Dreadful Crimes" 😂 and don't even get me started on games of the franchise with 4 editions (Standard, Gold, Deluxe and Ultimate) where Gold = Game + Season Pass, Deluxe = Game + Deluxe Pack and Ultimate = Game + Deluxe pack + Season Pass, but you can't buy the Deluxe Pack alone while you can buy the Season Pass alone 😂 (I think it was Odyssey)

@DoctorEldritch That's exactly it 😂 I understood after seeing all this, that if you want everything (or almost) you either take the Deluxe and buy Season Pass afterward if you're an "early player" or just get the Ultimate at its cheapest when everything is released and one or two other new Assassin's Creed games are available 😂

PS: the Round 2 for Players' Voice is live now at the same link >>here<< you might have a "bug" for voting, just click randomly on anything to place a vote and delete the pick afterward to select what you really wanted to select. This time we can pick up to 5 games

Click for my top 5 :
In no particular order, except for the first :
    1. Hogwarts Legacy
    2. Alan Wake 2
    3. Cyberpunk 2077
    4. Genshin Impact
    5. Resident Evil 4

@GoLLuM13 I go for at its cheapest. But here, too, it depends. When it comes to Ubisoft, the overall vibe of their games (as in, the same thing all over again in a different setting) and some of their practices like ads and the like make the decision to "wait till it's cheap" easy. But some other games are good enough for me to part with some money right when they are out (provided there will be no DLCs). Plus indie devs really need the support, too, unlike those big behemoths.

Ah, so we're in the second round. I guess I could vote for Hogwarts seeing as it is the only game I played from those. I should really get on with Alan Wake 1 and Control, I could play alan Wake 2, I think it is all out now, but I want to play those two games first.

Maybe I'll be able to give my vote to Cyberpunk if I manage to get it and play some of it before the end of the vote and like it, though it is unlikely (having time to play it before voting, I mean)

Did you nominate any games for Steam?
