Hello Legion Gamers!

Last Friday (17/11/2023) as many of us were watching the GO livestream, something else to watch has come out: Scott Pilgrim Takes Off was released! And it's only been a few weeks after Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, too!

Based on a series of graphic novels by Canadian author and comic book artist Bryan Lee O'Malley, this is not the first time Scott makes its way to the screens. Some of you may remember Scott Pilgrim vs. the World from 2010:

I watched it back then, and while it was not bad, you could see that the story really is better suited for animation (then again, most visual novels are, I think). Not to mention that writers crammed together all 6 volumes of the story into one film.

The animated version that just came out solves both of those issues: the style is closer to the original, effects can be done better, and the episode format is better for the pace of the story. Not to mention that most cast members from the movie returned to give their voices to the animated counterparts, so this can be seen as a reinvention.

Personally, I have not seen it yet (it's only been one weekend, after all 😅), but I bumped it up in my list and will try to watch it this week and see for myself if it lives up to the hype and expectations.

What about you, will you watch it, or maybe watched it already? Or maybe someone even read the original graphic novels?
