    Konnichiwa Legion Gamers!

Today is Japanese Culture Day! And very fitting that it should happen during Geek Month , as Japan brought so much to that subculture. Manga, anime, JRPGs, famous game developers and artists, and that's just in modern popular culture. Cherry blossoms, tea ceremonies, samurai and ninja, kendo and karuta, Japan has so many exciting aspects to it. And it is the perfect day to share them!
@Maiky123 started already by mentioning Sword Art Online anime (and others), and @GoLLuM13 and I recently remembered Yakuza games in our talk about the validity of remasters. But that's just the tip of the iceberg. Do you have a favourite thing about Japan? Does not have to be limited to games or anime or manga either! Maybe for @Saka it's kendo 😉

Personally, I like games from Japan the most, though the math behind them can be challenging to grasp. Though I do not play as much as I'd like, because these days Japanese game series have grown so big it is challenging to start, and I complained about putting off getting into Final Fantasy for this reason several times before. I used to watch a lot of anime back when I was a student, but now it is hard to find the time, and I grew more critical, too, so limit myself to the most high-rated things. Can't find time for the manga, but I do read Onepunchman. But Japan really is fascinating beyond all that, and it is increasingly challenging to grasp the full depth of cultural layers being an outsider.

This is my small account of my fondness for Japan. Maybe someone here would share it?

Japan is a fascinating place with good food, breathtaking nature, and cutting-edge technology. I also admire their anime designs for series and games.

A friend of mine told me that the food in Japan isn't as flavorful as it's portrayed in anime 😂😂, and that most of their desserts are made from beans. Furthermore, fruits are incredibly expensive there, even well-known ones like apples and strawberries.

So, experiencing things in person is definitely better than just watching them on the internet

Besides kendo I like some of the food - ramen, sushi, yakisoba, tea - mainly genmaicha and matcha. I used to speak the language a bit too, but that was years ago.
