@DracoTarot It is very macabre. Though as far as artistic representation goes, if actors and photographers can be seen as artists, I quite liked a livelier version of Poe by Chris Conner in the Altered Carbon series, even if that Poe is an AI that runs a hotel and quite far from the "original". Shame it got cancelled:

"Horizon" is not just a manhwa; it's an emotional journey that tugs at the deepest corners of the heart. Through its pages, readers experience a kaleidoscope of feelings: the hollow weight of emptiness, the drowning waves of sadness, the whirlwind of madness, and amidst all the chaos, the fragile flicker of hope followed by the overpowering shadow of disaster.

The protagonist's encounters with various individuals and the heart-wrenching losses that follow add layers to the narrative, making it profoundly impactful. Each character, each interaction, is a reflection of the highs and lows of human existence, making every chapter an emotional rollercoaster.

I am not a fan of horrors. Especially lately I have a fair bit of anxiety problem, so I prefer to watch content that brings a smile to the face. I like Milkmochabear comics and animations. They are really cute. Then there is Dinosaur couch showing a lot of very relatable situations.

@Saka Does not need to be horror, that was more for the theme of the month. But speaking of Milkmochabear, those comics actually have a working solution for your wariness of horrors. Here is what you can do:

@DoctorEldritch I also enjoyed the series and Chris Conner is a good actor. For some reason, all the good series get cancelled and it's annoying.

Actors and photographers can most definitely be seen as artists. Well in my eyes they are.

@Saka Pillows never actually helped me but to each his/her own. But horror can also be funny, there are many horrors with comedy elements or comedies with horror elements How are you with those?

@Maiky123 The art is impressive, but the setting is a bit too depressing for me. But I guess it does give it a certain charm. And I am not the one to judge, I do not read that many manga, these days I only really read Onepunchman.

@DoctorEldritch What can I say about ”The Horizon”, it is without a doubt one of the saddest and most emotional stories I have ever read, not to mention the powerful and interesting message that the author wanted to convey to the readers.

Although the story has few dialogues between the characters, the author of the work prefers to emphasize making the reader feel what the characters are going through in each “illustration.”

@Maiky123 From what you say, I think that, for me, to read stories like that you need to get into a particular mood, and I am not often in a mood like that. But it's art, it is meant to be subjective, so I am happy that you found stories that you enjoy.
