    Hello Legion Gamers!

Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix came out last week, and this weekend I watched it. It was an... unexpected experience, it really put an "R" in the R-rating. Feels like a "Suicide Squad a la Ubisoft" with a pinch of Marvel's What If...?, it was very bizarre and debauchery with iconic Ubisoft characters appearing in unexpected ways.

Honestly, I am still conflicted about how I feel about it, but overall, I'd say it was more a win than a fail for me. Without spoilers, I want to say that it is at least promising that Ubisoft does not shun away from the shock factor and is brave enough to experiment with its characters this way. If nothing else, it got us Bullfrog the Assassin:

Maybe @GoLLuM13 can say if his French accent is authentic.

But overall, the series was not quite at all what I was expecting when I sat to watch it. So I want to ask, has anyone watched it yet as well?

@DoctorEldritch I haven't watched it yet, but when I'll watch it, it will probably be dubbed in French, so it will be hard for me to tell you if the accent is authentic or not 😁

@GoLLuM13 Ah, so you prefer to watch them dubbed? I usually go for the original if it's in English, but one of the main reasons is that the quality of dubbing in my language is usually quite poor to my standards. But I am part of the problem, my standards may be higher than most because I worked in translation professionally in the past. So when I spot inaccuracies in dubbing translation, it almost physically hurts me.

@DoctorEldritch Usually I watch the series in English with subs in English or French whatever is available (but not movies, I watch movies in French only), but when both audio languages are available I tend to prefer to watch it in French, because while it's far from being perfect or even as good as the original, I have to admit that I understand better and easier French 😁

@GoLLuM13 That's fair. Then can you tell me, have you watched "The Grand Budapest Hotel" in French? That movie, like most Wes Anderson ones but perhaps in this case even more so, has those unusual language constructs that are difficult to translate. I watched it first in English, and after tried it in dub and it got all cringy for me, and not in a good way.

@DoctorEldritch I'm not what we can call a big consumer of movies, I haven't even heard about this one 😁 but I think I'll give it a try, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Muray, Edward Newton, Owen Wilson and Léa Seydoux convinced me 👀

@GoLLuM13 I liked it, but I am biased, I like Wes Anderson's style and his use of symmetry. Maybe you remember us talking about it with @Saka here some time ago. It is not for everyone, but if you end up liking it, chances are you may enjoy other films of Wes Anderson, too.

@DoctorEldritch I already watched several times, one of his movies "The Royal Tenenbaums" where I discovered the Wilson brothers, and I remember having a positive feeling about the movie 😊

@GoLLuM13 Ah yes, I think that was when Wes started to define his trademark style, starting with "The Royal Tenenbaums" and then going forward. If you watch them chronologically, as in, start with The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou and then to The Darjeeling Limited and so forth, you can trace how his style became more established and nuanced over time.

@DoctorEldritch OK I watched it and I share your mixed feelings about this show and I tried to watch some scenes with Bullfrog (my favorite character) in the original version (changed the audio track) and I can say he really has a French accent, and I've fond that he's dubbed by a French guy, Yves Bigerel a.k.a. Balak, who is also the Creative Director.
