Pues si,en algunos paises (ahem, USA), hoy es el día de los videojuegos (otra vez), pero bueno, sin empezar una discusión sobre cuál de ellos es más mejor, quería aprovechar esta ocasión, para lanzar esta pregunta al viento…
¿Cómo llegaste a ser un gamer?
O, cuál es esa experiencia, ese juego, es@ amig@ que te hizo enamorarte de los videojuegos y tomar el noble (y duro, que esos trofeos no se ganan solos) camino del gamer.
Y para romper un poco el hielo, empezaré en modo relato autobiográfico:
En mi casa, los videojuegos estaban prohibidos, pues por aquel entonces, la mayoría de los adultos pensaban que eran una pérdida de tiempo. Tuvimos una spectrum y juegos en el PC, pero lo de las consolas, ah no no no, eso no estaba permitido!!
Mi mejor amiga de la infancia (aún somos amigas, por cierto!!) y yo éramos unas frikis y nos encantaba todo aquello que te llevaba a que te hicieran bullying en el cole: los cómics, el anime, los videojuegos, el rol…Así que cuando podíamos nos escapábamos a los recreativos del barrio (saludos a los adeptos de la 5ª Avenida en Málaga Oeste) y nos échabamos unas partidas...
(…Ni que decir tiene que éramos unas de las pocas féminas en la sala…eran otros tiempos!! 😅)
Pero como nuestros ahorros se iban rápidos, al final acabamos jugando a la Megadrive en su casa, y siempre solía patearme el trasero al Street Fighter 2 😞
Seguía pidiendo la consola en mi casa, ¡¡pero a mis progenitores no les gustaban estas máquinas en absoluto!!
Así que cuando cumplí 12 años, empecé a ahorrar para comprarme mi propia consola…al cabo de unos meses lo conseguí y compré a escondidas, una Megadrive de segunda mano por 8.000 pesetas (abuelaaaaaaaaa).
Y tal como la compré a escondidas, también tenía que jugarla a escondidas…Así que me pasé un tiempo llevandome a la cama una tele pequeña que había en la cocina, montando todo cuando el resto dormía y jugando al Sonic con hasta las 3 o las 4 de la mañana, cuando volvía a desmontar la tele, esconder la consola y dormir un par de horas antes de ir al instituto.
Fue en esos momentos de frustración (cuando no existía el guardar), superación e insomnio cuando mi amor por los videojuegos se consolidó y después de tantos años, me ha llevado a escribir este hilo. ¿Quién le iba a decir a esa niña que hoy en día estaría escribiendo sobre videojuegos en una comunidad online? Ahhhh, la de vueltas que da la vida.
(Y fue en ese momento también, cuando empecé a tomar café) ☕
Y ya que estamos de recuerdos y reflexiones, llevo unos 6 meses aquí con vosotr@s y no hay día que no me alegre el a ver llegado aquí, aunque he de confesar, que sobre todo al principio, me preguntaba:
¿soy una gamer o soy una poser?
Hubo un período largo de mi vida en el que no jugué a videojuegos, simplemente porque estaba en otras cosas, y no fue hasta hace unos 4 o 5 años que volví a jugarlos (cuando se volvió a encender esa chispa e ilusión)
Pero en este caso, me quedo con algo que dijo @7jschulz en su spotlight: no eres menos gamer por ser un@ manc@, o no estar todo el día jugando, para ser un gamer, sólo hace falta que te gusten los videojuegos.

Perdonad el tochopost (made in @ZorroFeneco) que os he soltado, es que a veces está bonito recordar historias y contar batallitas..

¿en qué momento(s) os percatasteis de vuestro amor por los videojuegos?
No tengo un recuerdo claro de como fue el primer contacto con una videoconsola, pero si sé que prácticamente nací con una. Tengo la gran furtuna de que mi padre ya tenía una todopoderosa consola marca Philips desde antes de nacer yo. Iba con cartuchos, de esos que había que soplar 😂🤣😂; los mandos estaban cableados, eran una palanca sin autocentrado y un botón; los juegos eran en... 2 colores, verde y ausencia de verde. ¿Habéis oído hablar del pong? Pues había unos 16 juegos en 2 cartuchos, todos con la misma mecánica de pelotita perfectamente rectangular rebotando de aquí para allá.
La primera que me regalaron fue una versión pirata de la Atari 2600, ya venía con unos... así a ojo... chorrocientos juegos preinstalados. Se convirtió desde el día uno en el epicentro de cualquier celebración o reunión familiar que se hiciera en casa. Podíamos estar entre tíos, primos y amigos más de 10 personas haciendo turnos para jugar, no os podéis imaginar los piques.
A lo largo de los años he tenido también Nintendos, Segas, PCs, PlayStations, pero ninguna xbox. También pasé por años con el Espíritu Gamer en estado latente, aunque lo cierto es que su precencia se hacía notar aunque estuviese en letargo.
Hace unos años me había pasado a móvil como dispositivo principal y PC portátil como secundario. El efímero pero intenso paso por Stadia me permitió reconectar con las grandes producciones actuales. La llegada de las handheld PC con Windows como la Legion GO, en mi caso la Ally, me ha dado una ubicuidad que me permite aprovechar huecos para jugar que antes eran impensables.
No todo en la vida es juego, un Gamer veterano lo sabe bastante bien; pueden pasar días, semanas, meses o incluso años entre sesiones de juego. Pero tal amistad de la infancia, bastan 5 minutos para recuperar el feeling

Como muchos saben, vengo de una familia de pocos recursos y una madre rigurosa, por lo que no he podido jugar tanto como me hubiera gustado de pequeña. Puede que me haya convertido en gamer cuando iba a casa de mi abuela y jugaba en el pc o consolas de mi tío con mis primos, o cuando pude comprar mi primera consola (una PS3 de segunda mano) con mi propio dinero a los 21.
Gamer?, que es eso?, yo recuerdo de pequeño jugar a tetris, maquinas que no tenian pixeles sino imagenes serigrafiadas que se iluminaban y apagaban como las game and watch clonicas.
Pero lo que mas me gusto creo que fue matar patos, contra, tank, ice climber... echar asi un rato con familia en multi con un familiar con una NES clonica.
Luego mas adelante pues los amigos, sonic, juegos de lucha variados, plataformas, aventuras de scroll lateral y ahi ya si que fue engancharse (eso de tener que pasarte el juego del tiron en una tarde XD). Yo ni tenia consola en esa epoca dorada de 16 e inicio de los 32 bits en las que flipabamos con esos graficos. Ya mas tarde consegui una PSX donde quemaba cada juego y disfrutaba mucho de los demos de las revistas.
Y... ya en PC, Worms en multijugador, Unreal Tournament, Age Of Empires II... ya ahi con la estrategia fue en enganche con demos, revistas, etc XD.
En casa nunca me han regalado consolas ni videojuegos, siempre ha sido como gran premio por un logro o dinero propio XD.
Tambien recuerdo una gameboy color y una tonelada de pilas al lado XD.
Luego mas adelante PS2 con Eyetoy y Wii jugando a los bolos de nuevo en familia XD.
Y recuerdo epocas dejando consolas, centrandome en PC, y viceversa. Y una epoca que no tenia tiempo para nada, pase 10 años solo con GNU/Linux (y aun asi jugaba) pero luego reconecte con Starcraft II y volvi al vicio ^^. Luego otro paron con MMO variados y... Stadia que me volvio a hacer jugar a muchos juegos, ahora en jugando en Gamepass. Basicamente la comodidad de tener un catalogo mas reducido sin miles en los que jugar como me pasa en PC centrandome asi en disfrutar de nuevo de los juegos y no picotear tanto o gastar tiempo de manera poco productiva en juegos competitivos o de misiones diarias (tengo miles de juegos comprados y cientos aun sin canjear XD)
Vamos, que ni enganchado ni toda la vida, ni fanboy, ni niño rico... pero siempre disfrutando de gratas experiencias y piques con amigos ^^.
P.D.: Pase 2 años de mi vida con WoW, no mas XD. Eso también ayudo a viciarme :P. Y experiencias con casetes en Amstrad y juegos MS-DOS mejor no tenerlos en cuenta, mejor no recordar esos tiempos de carga ni comandos, no eran tan disfrutable XD. Demasiadas etapas de mi vida XD.

Era más bien ese momento de "Eureka", cuando te das cuenta que adoras los videojuegos y que ya no hay vuelta atrás...en mi caso pasó con lo de comprarme la Megadrive a escondidas, desafiando la desaprobación paterna (en el caso de ser rigurosas, nuestras familias se parecen bastante), y creo que en el tuyo, ¿fue cuando compraste la PS3 por tu cuenta sin necesidad de aprobación?
Pero en tu caso, estás aún más comprometida con este mundillo, pues trabajas en la industria (y ya de fija para una de las empresas más grandes del mundo!! 🎉👯)

@CandelaSynth la fofo es de navidades de 2011. En primer plano, una PS3 con los mandos move y, al fondo; un PC, monitor y TV cargado con videoclips y un equipo de música con karaoke. La cosa es que mi familia es grandecita, en navidades nos podemos juntar entre tíos, nietos y biznietos y allegados más de 50 personas fácilmente. Uno lleva la play(normalmente ese soy yo), otro un par de mandos, otro una torre de PC vieja, etc. Luego se junta todo y salen estas cosas 😅
En cuanto al proyecto multipantalla, hoy en día hay muchas facilidades, le enchufas un chromecast a cada pantalla y a correr 👌

These Terms, together with Lenovo’s Data Privacy Policy and any amendments and any additional agreements you may enter into with Lenovo in connection with the Platform, shall constitute the entire agreement between you and Lenovo concerning the Platform. If any provision of these Terms is deemed invalid, then that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in full force and effect.
Limitations of Liability
Neither Lenovo nor its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, third party content providers, sponsors, or licensors warrant that the Site will be continuous, uninterrupted or error-free. THE PLATFORM, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ITS CONTENT, IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS.
