    Hello Legion Gamers!

Epic Games Store continues to offer games for free every week, and the free games this time are...

    Black Book

“Black Book” is a dark RPG Adventure, based on Slavic myths, in which you play as a young sorceress. Fight evil forces in card-based battles and explore the world, where humans live alongside mythological creatures.

A very nice deck builder with a thick layer of Slavic folklore. I played it when it first came out and liked it very much. Not only is it a decent deck builder, but the developers really did their research on some of the less-known Slavic myths. Almost everyone knows Baba Yaga, and thanks to Witcher some may remember Leshy or Vodyanoy, but Slavic folklore has other less famous and more exotic spirits, and the game does a good job of introducing them. The only minor drawback of this game is that, while it has nice hand drawings, the graphics are deliberately lacking detail, which may not be everyone's cup of tea. But if you like deck-building games or folklore, Slavic in particular, then I recommend grabbing it.

And that's not all, the second free game this week is...

    Dodo Peak

Dodo Peak is a throwback to the classic arcade platformers of the past with a modern twist. Play as a dodo bird to find and rescue your lost babies from a series of dangerous peaks.

Can't say much about that one, seems a good choice for arcade lovers. The minimum age for the game is 3 years and levels are handcrafted, so if you're looking for a game of simple fun for a couple of evening, or if you are a parent, something for your small kid to play, then this may be a good option.

See anything that you like this week?

@DoctorEldritch Black Book would be my first choice.

@DracoTarot I liked it when I played it when it came out. and it has a card mechanic, as most deck-building cards do, so it may be particularly fitting for you. Not Tarot, but still close enough to explore the parallels. Not to mention folklore, that is one of the best parts.

@DoctorEldritch I enjoy any type of card game and especially if based on folklore. The graphics don't bother me as much if the game is fun.

@DracoTarot And on the plus side, because graphics are simplistic by design, they do not need as much resources to run, the game is really not that demanding. Though I have to confess that I played it in original Russian the first time and have not checked how the English version looks (though devs translated it themselves). It is my hope that folklore insights were not lost in translation.
