    Hello Legion Gamers!

    After almost a quarter of a decade, the third Baldur's Gate arrived yesterday (3rd of August) to the joy of D&D, RPG and turn-based tactic fans everywhere!

    And the game got more than a new number! It changed studio (Larian Studios developed it this time instead of Bioware) and ditched active pause for turn-based gameplay. With these changes, the game boasts impressive variety with 12 classes, over 170 hours of cinematics (which will require more than one playthrough to see, of course) and over 17,000 variations of the game's ending! I wonder who will be the first to see them all?

    This game was in the spotlight before the release, and so far seems to be the first big release of this year that worked well (after difficulties with Jedi: Survivor and whatever Gollum was supposed to be). We can only hope Starfield will be that good)!

    Are you going to play it? I certainly am, but personally, I am in a bit of a pickle: I like playing games when all DLCs are out. But I am not sure if this game will have any. Baldur's Gate 2 did not, but that was released back in 2000 when DLCs were not as big a thing as they are now. Developers have not released any plans or roadmaps yet (as far as I know) and are keeping us gamers in the dark.

    Maybe it will have no DLCs like Assassin's Cree Mirage is not planning to, but what if it does? So I am pondering if I should play it now or wait till the DLC situation becomes clear. But it is increasingly difficult to avoid spoilers. Does anyone know if there are any DLC plans for this game?

    It's interesting, and what I have heard, those who have tried it have given it 4 points out of 3, so it definitely sounds good. However, since I just gave Diablo IV a try while ago, trying out a game which is so similar might not happen today, tomorrow or next week, but eventually for sure. Maybe I let first hype to pass and, if it's still seen as great game, I'll give it a shot.

    If you take a look into this gameplay video of Baldur's Gate, you can see few things:

    1) It's 2,5D, just like Diablo IV;
    2) Skillbars are basically same;
    3) Graphics are basically same;
    4) Character panel is basically same;

    You get the point. :D So, lets see! Baldur's Gate is legendary serie with succesful history, so it being hit is not surprise at all!

    @DoctorEldritch Baldur's Gate is a legendary game and is already on my list. All I know is when I eventually play the game it's the only game I'm going to play for months to come. 😊

    @Liue I am not a fan of the Diablo series and have not played those games, so it is hard for me to fully appreciate the comparison. But 4 points out of 3 sounds reassuring. Though I wonder why they waited over 20 years before releasing part 3...

    @DracoTarot It does look like it will take months. I want to play it even now, but I am waiting for any DLC news.

    @DoctorEldritch I do not mind waiting. It's better not to rush with the game. I just hope when released there will be no issues playing it.

    @DracoTarot Usually if the initial base game release is good, the DLCs are also good. Witcher 3 case and point. Though that being said, I remember someone mentioning to me that Assasin's Creed Odyssey DLC about Atlantis was not following the universe lore, so... If Baldur's Gate does get some DLCs, then I hope they will add to the game and be as good. Even if it takes longer.

    But if the developers decide not to have DLCs, I wish they would tell us as soon as as possible.

    @DoctorEldritch I would be great to know if Baldur's would have DLCs.

    I'm happy with the recent decision they've made. I really can't wait to play Baldur's.

    @DracoTarot This is good to know, though the operative word is "are". Not "will not be". And DLCs are a bit different from microtransactions and in-game purchases (or are they?), so though it is admirable that Baldur's Gate decided not to add those additional purchases, it does not rule out the possibility that a more substantial DLC with new content will be made.

    And it will be a good thing, of course. New places and characters and maybe even gameplay elements are a welcome sight with a game that good, I would be happy if they made a DLC. All I am asking is that they would tell us gamers if they are planning to make one or not as soon as possible. Helps to plan my time better is all I'm saying.

    @DoctorEldritch One thing I noticed is the developers have left out character customization this time. Maybe, just maybe there will be DLCs. They are not clear about it as yet.
