FFXIV's director announced a crossover with Fall Guys, which adds a minigame to Final Fantasy XIV. The minigame features a platform that looks like one of the maps from Fall Guys.

The event in Fall Guys will feature a pass that can be purchased from 22nd of August and available for six weeks. It will allow players to obtain FFXIV-themed outfits, such as a fat chocobo outfit or the Leveilleur twins.

@Saka Fall Guys seems to be doing a lot of collabs lately adding costumes from all sorts of places. I remember Half-Life. Good for them, it is nice when video games collab, though personally, I like it most when indie developers do it, like making small "game recognizes game" nods to each other. Like what Dead Cells are doing with costumes and weapons and that whole Castlevania expansion.

@DoctorEldritch I really like these costumes, but I don't play Fall guys enough to justify spending money on the season pass, haha. I wish these things weren't as widespread in modern games. I prefer when you can get a specific item from a cosmetics shop and not buy the whole bundle.

Oh well, that's just my grumbling. At least the events in FF14 generally allow you to earn something nice without spending.

@Saka Better yet, it'd be nice if you could unlock them simply by playing more. Like among Us, sometimes they have those bundles that you get for free but need to unlock using special in-game currency that you get by playing. That would invite people to play moire and spend less, which is always a good thing for a gamer.

But I guess Fall Guys is big enough no that they do not need to boost player numbers this way, maybe.
