@DoctorEldritch Suitcase full of mayo must be really interesting in the luggage control! But I am sure I carried some quite weird stuff on me as well. Can't recall a good example right now though, but often I take cheese with me to Poland. My dad is always craving the Finnish breadcheese and is extremely disappointed whenever I forget to bring it or can't for some other reasons.

My husband recently made mayo at home, his first attempt, and to my surprise that was surprisingly edible and tasted very different than the mayo at the shops. It was a little bit too heavy on the olive oil, but it was still just fine in a chicken sandwich I had it with.

i might be weird, I just chomp my hardboiled eggs as they are. Sometimes I might put a little bit more effort and put them on a slice of buttered bread, but not much more than that. I don't think they need spicing. But then again, I have rather peculiar food preferences. Some of the food I eat people would call bland. Then another day I can eat an inferno level lava-like-hot soup.

@Saka Do you mean Juustoleipa? I don't think I tried that when I last visited Nordic countries (it's been a while, the last time I visited Norway was in 2018, I think). But I do remember Brunost quite fondly.

This is one of the advantages of making things at home, you can adjust the ratio to suit you. Though I never tried to make mayo, but I am quite adept at homemade chutneys and pickles. And it is a trial-and-error process, so you can tell your husband to ease up on olive oil for the next batch and see how you like it then.

Plain hardboiled eggs are a bit...I dunno, boring to me. I like them most as deviled eggs, but that takes some time and effort to do, so I usually settle for just a bit of mayo on top of the egg instead. But I do not eat them with bread(but I will eat soft-boiled eggs with bread "soldiers"). Do you use no spices at all, not even salt?

I wish I could do that, but I can't do spicy food. It gives me hiccups.

@DoctorEldritch Yes, that cheese! Although in my parts it's usually called leipäjuusto, not the other variant of the name.

I am boring with spices. I don't like salt much, and in Finland even butter is salted. So if I have my slice of buttered bread, it is already slightly salty. That's enough for my egg.

@DoctorEldritch oh this is the perfect time for this post (I know i am late, sorry😶). Since I moved to the city, I do not have a garden, but a tiny balcony full of plants. I have some Night Sky petunias, Lavender, Coriander, Calendula and a lot of Nasturtium. I have inside the appartament two big Lilies, one white and one pink, a little Basil, a tomato that i am trying to grow in a big pot and a little white flower which name I dont know. I think since I see the fruits of my work with my flowers and basil, I am getting more and more into plants, specialy flowers but I dont have more space on my balcony🤣
