@GoLLuM13 This is crafty. The base game is free, but to get all those DLCs you need to pay. Kind of like with Warhammer 40K Gladius a while back. A nice ploy, eh?

Then again, one may remember a proverb about gift horses and mouths...

@DoctorEldritch unfortunately nowadays, DLCs and other extra in-game transactions (loot boxes and all) are acting like a cancer in the video games' industry. Example (and not the worst) for a video game like Dead or Alive if you wanted all the DLCs it would cost around 1535€ on Rocksmith 2014 Remastered Edition if you wanted all the 1555 tracks and/or packs of songs it would have costed around 4883€ and the one I "prefer" Train Simulator 2020 with its 630 DLCs approximately 7673€
I know that after saying all this, the 35.56€ of the complete edition seems to be nothing now 🤣 but I'm one of those persons who only buys a DLC if it gives a meaningful addition to the game/story, and I rarely buy cosmetics with real money 👀

@GoLLuM13 I agree, it is really getting out of control. Was still surprised by the figure you wrote, though. You can buy a car for that amount of dough.

I myself do not buy DLCs as such, I always wait for GOTY or a version where they are all included already. But I never saw something like that with Train Simulator 2020, I don't think anyone would buy it for 7673€...

It got to the point where this trend is being parodied in the Mythic Quest sitcom, a comedy about the game dev company I mentioned before. They had this piece, for example:

With DLCs and lack of optimization, among other things, I wonder where the gaming industry will end be in 10 years from now...
