@Saka Good to know it is possible in principle, and the game does not force you to come up with a certain number of people before you can play.

Just yesterday me and @j7schultz stayed after a Game Together and tried First Class Trouble (it was free on EGS a few months ago, so we both have it), but that game needs you to have 6 friends to play (not 5, not 7, 6 exactly). We ended up playing a round with some random people, but it was our first time, so I felt rather nooby. Always more comfortable to play with people you know, so good that Guild Wars 2 has no enforcement mechanic like that.

@DoctorEldritch - Welcome to my world, I feel nooby all the time 😅
I think First Class Trouble, Midnight Hunt, Fortnite, Dead by Daylight and every free game Epic Games gave are valid options for #GameTogether . Also, free games on Steam and Game Pass to diversify a little bit.

@DoctorEldritch The game is quite flexible in that regards. Some players in the community might not be. I prefer playing with people I know, because when inviting randoms (it's easy to find randoms, there is a LFG tool in the game) you can easily meet toxic meta slaves. I rarely play exactly meta classes, but I am a pretty good player. Or at least was when I actively played the game. Yes, some classes can have higher potential of dps/healing/support, but only if you enjoy playing them and do so properly. I can't force myself to play something that doesn't appeal to me.

It would be really amazing if some people in the community end up liking the game and could play it with me. I would like to do the instanced contest with a casual attitude. 😊

@Saka Taking from your post about Chill Sale, Summer is about chilly vibes. It is my hope that our Guild Wars 2 will be chill and casual. I never tried that game before, and there is always that "entry period" where you just arrived from Noobsville and try to find your ground.

@j7schultz, there are some games that would be good to add to Game Nights, that's true. But as far as Midnight Ghost Hunt goes, I left my impression here. Hopefully, it will sort itself out when out of Early Access.

@DoctorEldritch In its design, Guild Wars II is a rather casual and chill game.

It's the community that insists on playing the game in the way it doesn't need to be played. Similar thing is happening to classic WoW - the content there was never meant to require extreme levels of preparation, yet a lot of people are making it that way.

That being said, typically uninstanced content is very laidback, aside of a few bad apples people are generally nice. The older 5 man dungeons are okay too - the experienced players usually don't mind if newer guys join to learn. These dungeons are easy enough that a veteran can carry a lot, especially if they play a strong hybrid build.

@Saka Maybe when many random people come together, they start getting competitive? Or maybe munchkinism is more popular than we realized?

But it is good that the game does not bend to this tendency. Not sure if WoW does, but you sometimes get that impression, I think, it trying to cater to every type of gamer. If Guild Wars 2 retained that "new game chillness" vibe somewhat, I say good for it.

@DoctorEldritch Vocal minorities on Reddit and other online communities are to blame.

@Saka Well, we can try not to let those affect our game experiences.
