Sir Christopher Lee was a great actor and person. I just have the problem that I associate him mostly with the portrayal of Saruman in the Lord of the Rings.

So in the Dracula from 1970 I see Saruman going through an edgy phase. 😅

It's interesting you see it like that, I know the opinion that Sir Christopher Lee portrayed Dracula so well and so often that many saw it in reverse: not "Dracula from 1970 is Saruman going through an edgy phase", but rather "Saruman is an older mature Draculawho read "Vampire Guidelines" (one of which states "wear white instead of black as it will mask your natural paleness). And let's not forget his Count Dooku is no less famous than Saruman. To me, he was always more Dooku than anyone else.

As my own random bit, in SW, Count Dooku actually had a proper Sith name, Darth Tyranus. But there is a rumor that it was Sir Christopher Lee's portrayal of Dracula that inspired the SW canon to refer to him as Count instead, and even the name Dooku was chosen as it began with the same letter and sounded close to the infamous Dracula.

As a random bit, Sir Christopher Lee was acquaintanced with J.R.R. Tolkien and the author saw him as a possible candidate for Gandalf. That was an interesting twist of fate, him ending up as Saruman.

I read about that. As a random bit from myself, I can add that Sir Christopher Lee was the only cast member of LoTR that managed to meet Tolkien in person.

@j7schultz Gerard Butler is a good vampire, but to be honest, I did not really see him as Dracula, he is a bit too... young, I think, for that character. He represents a different archetype of a vampire with his youthful look. It's like Gerard Butler is Toreador and Dracula is Tzimisce (which he actually is in WoD). I am more for the classic approach.

Or it may be just that I did not really like Dracula 2000 plot and am biased.

@DoctorEldritch It's sad when a great series is cancelled due to a lack of funding and viewership.

If only that, recently there's been so many cancellations for no obvious reasons. I can see how 1899 would be canceled as directors were not given the money to tell the whole story like they were with Dark, and I can sort of see why Westworld would fall short of getting its fifth and final season (though a shame they had to drop it a step away from the end of the story).

But then there are examples like Warrior Nun which was well received, or "adult cartoon" (not "Rick & Morty adult", more like "BoJack Horseman adult") Tuca and Bertie, and that's just the tip of the iceberg... Maybe we should start a thread called "Series that didn't deserve being canceled" or something like that, there really are a lot.

So you're looking forward to the remake of Nosferatu, I take it?

The PC looks nice, but I want to ask, is there an option to change color? I want to say an ominous crimson glow is more of a vampire vibe, but that's me. Blue is indeed more Blade.
