@DoctorEldritch Like @saka said buttons need to be pressed in sequence and yes there may be some hardcore WOW players who may even have a totally separate keyboard they use solely for the game.

According to pro users, a Corsair K95 Platinum Mechanical Keyboard is the best keyboard for World Of Warcraft.

I'm not sure how the matchmaking works now since I've played but a user on the Blizzard forums wrote:

Well, since this game is gear-oriented (in contrast to skill-oriented games) arena matchmaking must compare the player's gear only, according to the highest achieved rating. If player A gets XXXX rating achievement this season (let's say Rival 2) he must not be “matched” versus player B who doesn’t have this achievement.

Player A should have improved all his gear already for honour points, otherwise, it’s his personal problem. Player A could have dropped his MMR to boost other players and so he could put some lower ilvl gear on, but the arena matchmaking system must “look” only at his highest achieved rating so far and “match” him against the same rating players only. As simple as this. The current system is totally broken and is suited only for boosters and their respectable clients.

@DracoTarot It does seem a bit that to be competitive you need to invest in gear more, I agree, does not seem fear. It's like entering an F1 race driving a delivery van...

@DoctorEldritch It's the main reason I avoid certain games.

And there I am playing on a 60% keyboard. I have a lot of mouseover macros though, which reduce the amount of necessary buttons.

@DracoTarotIt's sad, but it is what it is. Good thing that there are plenty of games we can still enjoy that do not have such issues.

@Saka I guess it is also about the balance between mouse and keyboard then, and finding one that suits you best. Makes me wonder if pianists and other musicians would have an advantage when playing WoW...

@DoctorEldritch Actually I have a pretty regular mouse too. The macros just mean that my key press does a different action when highlighting a target.

I tried a MMO mouse once (Corsair Scimitar) and could pretty much only use two rows of the buttons somewhat reliably. One row comfortably. So in the end I decided to use a mouse with fewer buttons but fitting my grip better.

This is my setup and I do quite challenging content with it:

@Saka I like the ninja motif (and it has hiragana, how cute). That armrest of yours combined with the keyboard looks like a kemuridama. It would be a shame to dismantle part of such a keyboard even to play better, I think.

@DoctorEldritch The keycaps are new, I got them somewhat recently in a giveaway that PCMasterrace reddit was doing at the beginning of the year.

It's a bit of shame that I have ISO layout, but keyboards available in Finland are always using Nordic layout, so therefore ISO. Poland uses ANSI too.

If not for the incompatibility with ISO, I would have a samurai design for the modifier keys, such as shift, alt, ctrl and so on. I have the kit, but it would look bad with some keys not being there.

At least the hiragana on its own looks good enough too.

I have a lot of good memories of World of Warcraft, what a time.

I can still see some of my characters in the armory, don't worry, I have one in the Alliance too. But my main was and always will be Horde.
